Holiday Inn SunSpree???

Has anyone stayed here. Can you offer some input?

Stayed there about 12 years ago. My kids were 5, 7 and 10 at the time. A lot could have changed since then, but they had buffet breakfasts that weren't very much, and kids got to eat free as long as parents were paying (for dinner too). They had video and game rentals and the kids loved that. The kids liked the pool a lot too. That was a long time ago, though!

We stayed there two years ago. We stayed for a couple of days before staying at Disney. we loved it! The kid suites are great because the kids can go to bed and you don't have too. They had a dive in (large movie on a screen by the pool), hairwrapping, bingo, daily treasure hunt, and lots of activities by the pool for the kids. The food at the restaurant wasn't great - we only ate there once, however, you can easily walk to a number of other restaurants and the kids suites have a fridge, microwanve, etc. - we loved it and professed we would stay there again - until we sayed at Disney...

Stayed in 2001...decent rooms with fun themes. We went with our four kids and got a room with double bunkbeds. The food was horrible and the waitstaff was worse. The pool was great. Also the maids could not speak english. But that was 2001, maybe those things have changed. Room was always clean and the arcade was fun.

We were there in '05. Was very pleased for the money. We had a family suite, with a separate area with bunk beds and a 2nd tv for the kids. At that time, the resort was definitely showing some wear and tear but the staff was very nice and accomodating. Our room was always clean. The pool was fun. And you are VERY close to everything Disney. Specifically closest to Downtown Disney. Also tons of restaurant options close by. I also would stay there again if not staying on Disney property.

We stayed there in 2006. Nice resort and you can't beat the proximity to Downtown Disney.

Stayed there this past July....Ditto to quote.Would stay there again if i get a great rate again....It was a bugger getting out on to the highway in and out of resort.Maybe 1.5 miles to dtd....

we're also due to stay at this hotel.....
anyone know, is it actually possible to get to dtd on foot from hotel - without risking life and limb crossing the roads and playing lemmings with the traffic.

Nope, it's a decent distance and you'd be crossing very busy 535 as well as the onramps for I-4

We stayed here twice in the past. One time in a standard room and got a rollaway for our 5th person this was clean but off of a parking lot area in the back but still large compared to disneys pop rooms. We also stayed the following time in a kidsuite with two sets of bunkbeds. The kidsuite had tiled floors and needs some updating although equal to a motel 6 type with the lobby, pool, and mini store inside it was a moderate. The kids got free popcorn and loved it. They also like the store because of the bagged dippin dots they sell out of a cooler there. Not the ritz but better than a plain room only hotel. We have booked it for our last two nights after leaving pop in June. As it sufficed our needs It is about 2 miles from Disney entrance on a very busy street with a busy Golden Corral restaurant next door

We stayed there after a cruise that was 2 years ago.

We also had a kids suite with 2 sets of bunk beds. THe kids loved it. And we couldnt keep them out of the pool (this was in DECEMBER)

I would agree skip the resturant, unless they have changed ALOT. Food wasnt good, overpriced, and not very good service.

VERY kid friendly!

PS- they did offer trans to the parks. CAll to see if they offer it to DTD.
