I stayed at this hotel last January. I would say it is a pretty decent hotel. They have put a lot of money into it recently and are updating it a lot. It still looks a bit 70's but overall I liked it. The staff is some of the most friendly I have ever seen at a hotel. Also, the middle of the 3 pools seemed to be the least crowded. We ate the breakfast buffet at Angels and it was decent for the price.
I didn't have any experience with their shuttle. We rented a car. From the time you leave the parking lot to the time you actually park it will probably take around 20-30 minutes. To get to the Maingate it takes about 5 minutes or so.
Overall, for a family on a budget this is a great hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
