i am thinking of staying at the holiday inn international drive next may. i have read a number of conflicting reports and would be very gratful for your comments.

We've stayed here twice and would do so again. I would definitely recommend having a "tower" room though, these are large and well equipped, the "resort" rooms are smaller and the furnishings are not as nice.

The pool is very good with a waterfall feature and has a poolside bar which is very welcome! There is a bar which opens evenings which is compact but does not get very full (at least it doesn't in October/November when we have stayed there). Also a shop and deli and restaurant. We have not used the restaurant because we prefer to eat out at the many restaurants locally. There is also a small electronic games room.

All in all for the price it is excellent value and a good location on I-Drive.

Best wishes

We stayed at the HIID in Oct 2001.
If you book with Virgin you will be allocated a tower appartment.
The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. For the amount of time you spend at the hotel you dont need much more.
The rooms are fitted with Fridge, TV, Video, Microwave a decent bathroom and all the amenities of I Drive on your doorstep.
I would certainly stay there again.

We stayed there and really enjoyed it, it was very clean and the pool bar and surrounding's were very nice. We went with Virgin but did not get a tower room, so if you would like one you'd maybe better ask for one when booking.

Were booked up to stay there next April.

I have been told that the location is great, walking distance to lots of shops, restraunts and Wet and Wild. However it was the free transport to ALL the major theme parks that sealed the deal for us.

Killie,
It was two years ago when we stayed there and at that time they only provided complimentary transport to Universal and Sea World, so the fact that they now provide Disney transportation will be saving you a packet.:teeth:

Hello,

Newbie here! Off to Florida on 15th Oct for the first time and can't wait! We are staying at the Holiday Inn, I-Drive. I too have read conflicting reports, but the overall consensus is it's a good hotel, for the amout of time you will spend in it!

I've spent 2 very good holidays at the HII. I love it and it would be my first choice again on I-Drive without a doubt (unless I got lucky and was staying at the Peabody, always wanted to stay there)

The staff were very friendly and service orientated. The facilities were great, the pool was warm. I quite like the location and all in all I loved it there.

I've stayed in a room near the pool which was fine but I much preferred the rooms in The Tower - they were HUGE !!!

I have recommended this hotel to my work colleagues over the past 3 years and none of them have been disappointed. I'm sorry to hear there has been some bad press about this place, I don't know why, I do remember there was some building refurbishment going on when I was last there at the end of 2001 but it did't affect our holiday at all.
