Review Holiday Inn in the Walt Disney World resort- is a rental necc?

Hello all I was unsure as to where to post this since I am not sure if it considered a Disney Resort- but did not want to get it jumbled in other forums. I have looked at a map and Downtown Disney seems farther then expected- just wondering if shuttle services are frequently offered from/to these locations. I guess the same will go with any reviews on the shuttle service to and from ep/ mk as well. Any advice is appreciated. We were trying to stay in a budget and I really didnt consider a rental until I saw the map.

If it's the one on Hotel Plaza Blvd, it's not that far, although a shuttle is offered. It's perhaps 1/4 mile to get to the edge of DTD. We walked to DTD several times from the Hilton next door.
