Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites at Universal Studios

Has anyone ever stayed here? Apparently it is directly across the street from Universal and provides a free shuttle to both USF and IOA.

What is the quality of the resort - rooms/facilities/pool/dining???? (which is a TGI Friday's if I am not mistaken)
I have not been able to find any information on these boards and the website is extremely limited.

I have on hold a two bedroom suite accomodating 8-10 people for $124.50 for one night 10/29/03 which includes free breakfast buffet for all kids 12 and under.

I would really appreciate all the feedback I can get on this!!!!!!!!!

We stayed at the Amerisuites that is directly behind this Holiday Inn, so I can't tell you much about the room quality, but we did eat at the TGIF's and it was good. It is across from Universal's Parking Garage which is about a 15 min. hike to the park gates. It is doable but only if you're walkers. I recall a few previous posts on the board from other DISers who have stayed there so you may want to try the search option.

Sorry I am so late with this response, but we stayed at the Holiday Inn Universal last year for NYE and the hotel and location were fine with us. It was just the two of us (hubby and I) and we found the rooms to be very clean and spacious, nothing fancy, service was nice, especially the doorman and bellboy. We especially liked having TGIF next door for quick bites to eat, and their great inexpensive breakfast buffet.

The hotel transporation to the parks were okay, but we opted for private cabs to and from the parks. It was worth the $4.00 charge, since we could when we were ready, and not wait for the buses. Overall its a good value hotel and we would stay there again.
