Any secrets on how to get a good rate at this hotel? This budget board always seems to have great advice!! I'm looking to travel late January. Is it too soon to get a good deal? It's looking like 237 a night! Thanks for your help.

Have you thought if applying for an IHG credit card? I don't have one but heard good reviews and you may be able to get a sign up bonus

I love Aruba! We got married there December 2007 at Manchebo beach resort. If the hotels you are looking at are in the high rise area I suggest you move to the low rise hotels, much quieter and laid back

The place is kind of a dump. I'd look at moving down the beach to the Marriott.

I agree!

We stayed at the Occidental just up the beach from the Holiday Inn.
It was run down and dirty. The loungers on the beach looked dirty and broken.

Id look elsewhere

I don't know about holiday inn but I stayed at the Aruba Beach club a few years ago which is inexpensive because it's timeshare.

If you want to avoid the fees for snorkeling you can drive yourself to the Asachi Beach. Just be careful of stepping on sea urchins , you just sort of drift out - take bread with you the fish are drawn to it. People we know who go all the time told us about the beach, I was skeptical but they said that this is where all the daytrip's take their guests . We got there we saw they were tourist boats that left their guests off right where we were.

This is where I stayed as well at the Aruba Beach Club which was away from the Holiday Inn and other bigger chain hotels. Maybe check into renting a timeshare instead.
