Hi - After the renovations has anyone come across some photo's?

I took a gamble and booked here for December and am very curious.

Thanks!

Bumping this up as I am also interested in seeing some photos or hearing from someone who has stayed at this hotel since renovations completed! :)

Hmmm...didn't think to take photos but we just stayed there from Aug. 22 to the 25th. I am not sure what the renovated. There was one of the 4 elevators down and they worked on one of the others while we were there. The fitness room was closed for "construction". The pool and lobby looked nice. Our room was nice - we got upgraded by Universal Vacations to a suite which was a nice surprise. The room was clean and staff were friendly. I would have preferred a bigger bed since I am use to sleeping on a King and they had either doubles or queens - I would say double beds. I would certainly recommend staying there.

Thanks for the info! It's making me feel better about my choice.
So did you book through universal's website? That's how I booked. How nice it would be to get an upgrade!
Did you happen to notice any kind of water/splash pad type thing for kids in the pool area? I thought I read about that somewhere...
Thanks again!

Yes, I booked through the Universal Vacations website for our package. When we checked in they said Universal Vacations had upgraded us to a suite. We went out to the pool area the first night we were there but the gate was locked because it was raining and lightning at the time. The pool area looked nice so it was probably definitely remodeled but I didn't see (but wasn't looking for) a splash pad area.

I have not stayed there but if you read reviews on Trip Advisor.com, Hotels.com or Hotels.ca, it is rated one of the worst hotels to stay at so be careful and not just because of the construction which should have been finished by now. We were thinking of staying there as well but I was discouraged by
all the negative reviews. I also emailed the manager a month ago to ask about if the construction would be done by next April and I have yet to recieve an answer. Hyatt would probably be a better choice. Better to read the reviews before you choose. We have stayed at Doubletree Universal twice and loved it.
