Holiday Indulgence- A Delicious Food TR! Sanaa and Final Thoughts

For dinner that night we had a reservation at 7:30 for Ohana that CL had booked for me 6 months in advance. I had not been in 2 years and over 3 for my DH. The lobby was still under construction at the Poly but did not effect the ambiance of the restaurant and lounge.

We grabbed some drinks at one of my favorite lounges The Tambu Lounge! I had a Mojito and my DH and MIL had the Piña Colova, all were delicious. When they called our name we were seated way in the back near the front. I was sooooo disappointed that I asked if we could wait for a table in the main dining room. 15 minutes later we had a table by the window with perfect view of the castle.

The welcome bread was good and I knew to ask for the salad thanks to the boards and I was phenomenal! One of the highlights for me. I was the only one that tried the lettuce wraps. PF Changs has better ones. The wings and potstickers were good as usual. My FIL stated the pork was the best he had ever had, the star of the show for me are the shrimp. I could twenty of them I swear! The beef was juicy not all dried out as with past visits. Dessert was good as always. Overall service was excellent and can't wait to return! As with Ohana you just never know what you are going to get :)

Just finding your report and subbing in.

What a shame on your boardwalk lobster roll. It looks completely different then the one I had a few months ago, so someone definitely forgot the mayo that day.

Ahh, club level. Those apples really are good ; )

Isn't tangerine cafe just awesome. We made the mistake of venturing into the table service restaurant in Morocco last time. Tangerine is definitely where it's at.

Your Ohana meal looks great.

Can't wait for more!

Following along and enjoying your report so far! Your baby is adorable!

Does the Boardwalk Bakery have a set menu with the same selections every day, or does it change frequently? We are staying there in April and I was thinking of a quick lunch there on arrival day. My DS has food allergies so I like to plan ahead.

We have eaten at Tangerine Cafe several times and love it there!

Still waiting to try Ohana...someday...

Your baby boy is such a cutie!

So sad that the lobster roll and cupcakes from Boardwalk Bakery weren't tasty.

Club level at BC looks awesome!

I must try Tangerine Cafe sometime. I always read such positive things about it.

Glad you enjoyed your dinner at Ohana. I miss the old salad and chicken but still enjoy eating there.

Great table at Ohana! Totally worth the 15 minute wait, especially because you already had a drink in you, that always makes the wait easier.

Glad you enjoyed your meal there, I'd say it gets some of the most up and down reviews on the dis. I always feel like it's a better place for a group, even when they scale the food down to two people it always seems like a TON, especially once you have to eat that dessert too! Have too, haha.

I totally agree, where was the mayo on that lol :confused3. Must have been someone new making it that day.

Subscribing! Looking forward to reading more :)

Glad to have you here :goodvibes

I know the soups change and some of the cupcakes. Not sure on the rest of the menu. You must try Ohana, it's so unique!

Thank you! We beyond blessed with his cuteness! I too missed the chicken at Ohana.

I was not going to have it any other way with the table :rotfl: it is way to much food, I feel very overwhelmed with all that food on the table for sure!

Your most welcome! I wish I could recreate those shrimp at home!

Your cocktails sound delicious! We just loved the welcome bread, too. We didn't ask for the salad but we might have to next time! I wasn't too thrilled with the lettuce wraps either, PF Changs totally blow them away. We also found the beef to be very juicy. I love the shrimp too, I just wish they were pre-peeled so I could get them in my mouth faster :thumbsup2 I'm glad you had such a great Ohana experience. It was our favorite meal of the trip, and I hear so many negative reviews about it around here!

The next morning we had our daily breakfast at the clublevel. The morning staff was so sweet and all the ladies loved Alexander. They took turns holding him :rotfl::rotfl: After breakfast we ventured over to the MK. I know most of you aren't going to agree with me on this but the MK is my leas favorite park at WDW. Oh how can that be you may ask ?! My heart belongs to DL in Anaheim when I compare the two. I like the food better and the rides are better, just my honest opinion. I had really wanted to try BOG for lunch but was unable to get a fastpass for lunch :sad1: We strolled by and it said no walk ups so we went with an old faithful restaurant Columbia Harbor House. The theme is a nice colonial style and there is plenty of seating. I gave their lobster roll and chance with homemade chips and to my surprise it was delicious. My MIL had the salmon with rice and steamed broccoli. She said it was very good and tried a bite of the broccoli and it had a nice season to it. My FIL had the tuna sandwich which he thought was excellent and my DH had the shrimp with fries which was outstanding! For desserts us ladies had the berry cobbler, it was very good!! The boys had the standard chocolate QS cake that we actually brought back home with us. Overall CHH is a nice QS choice and has a good value if you on the DDP. Also going back to DL my son and I will be there the last week of this month. We are joining Dad at a nearby Air Force base for a training class. So while Daddy is in class from 8-5, Mommy and Son will be at DL during the week. The drive is only 30-45 min from the base and we cannot wait. I will post some my dining adventures on here as well.

I wanted to share my pic of Alexander and I with Dumbo!

Enjoying your reviews so far. Thanks for sharing pictures especially Tangierine Cafe. I'm hoping to try it in April but there are so many choices at Epcot. Looking forward to more.

Thanks! It is so worth trying!!!

Your CHH food looks and sounds so good! I always get the same thing (fried shrimp) but lately the lobster rolls look really good! I agree with you about the broccoli. It is way better than plain broccoli.

I also agree with you about MK. I feel the same way about the food in DL, and of course my heart will always be in Anaheim. How nice that you get to go for a visit soon! Us too!

Happy to see your new trip report and pics! We need to get together again soon for lunch or happy hour. Interested to hear your DL plans. We are going back in June and I'm planning (hubby doesn't know it yet) food and wine for October. Facebook me when you get a chance.

Mmm, Columbia Harbor House one of my perennial favorites. Looks like everyone left happy and you finally got a good lobster roll.

Love the dumbo pic ; )
