Does any one know when Target starts doing their holiday clearance. I always happen to show up after all the good stuff is gone :scared: My wrapping paper and gift box supply is running dangerously low. This includes Walmart too. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks :thumbsup2

I cleaned up one year at Toys R'Us on wrapping paper for like $.10 or $.25 a roll. I am still using it and that was 3 years ago and hundreds of presents.

Our store already has some of the yard decor 30% off. I would go in frequently now if I were you.

My Target has never put the wrapping supplies or other indoor stuff on clearance until the day after. There is always a line at the door before they open on the 26th and the Ziploc bags and stuff like that are gone within minutes because people grab that stuff first. The Toys R Us here often marks their seasonal stuff down prior to the holiday.

Don't know about Target or Walmart really, but I work at a Michaels craft store and we carry gift wrap, boxes, and lots of decor too. Everything Christmas just went to 70% off and the sale signs with it state that the 70 off is until 12/24. I'm assuming after Christmas it will drop down more.

If it follows the normal seasonal clearance schedule the markdowns at Target should be this:
December 26, 50% off (30% off food)
December 29, 70% off (50% off food)
January 1, 90% off (70% off food)

Sometimes in past years it took longer than normal for it to get to 90% off. I remember 3 or 4 years ago it took almost a week longer to get to 90% off.

For Toys R Us, I'm not sure if they are going to go to 90% off anymore. Halloween items were 75% off on November 1st and the price scanner said the prices were valid through November 30th. On December 1st, I scanned some items and instead of 90% off or even 75% off, the items were back to scanning at full price.

Walmart seems to vary by store. Halloween merchandise at my local Walmart is still 75% off and I don't think it will ever go to 90% off (not much is left anyway) and I expect the same to happen with Christmas merchandise.

Wow, thanks for this info. I will be headed to Micheals sometime in the next couple of days.

Thanks Everyone :thumbsup2. I will keep an eye on all these stores :rotfl: But will definitely be at Target on the 26th;) Today I will head out to my local Michaels. Thanks again :cool1:

Oh, yay! I wrap my kids presents by color and I have to get some green wrapping paper, non-toddler, non-girly, that's not $10+/roll and no one has any. I'll head there tomorrow AM to see if they have some.

Just a follow up about Michaels, not every single Christmas thing is 70 off, but I did see the gift wrap rolls at 50% off, regularly 5.99 I think, so maybe 3 bucks a roll. I picked up some nice boxes to put cookies in that I'm baking for family members and they were less than 2 dollars each which fits my budget!
