Holding tickets 24 b/4 buying?

Years ago we could put a hold on a ticket for 24 hours before actually buying the ticket. Does anyone know if there are any airlines that do this anymore?

Particularly Delta or United.

Did you check the airline's websites?

I do know without checking that on United - no holds. You may cancel tickets within 24 hours without penalty.

American allows tickets to be put on hold generally until midnight the next day before you purchase. -- Suzanne

Thankyou both. I've checked on the Delta site but can't find a thing. I have a feeling I'm thinking WAY back when we used to fly NWA.

Maybe I should try going ALMOST through with a purchase to see what pops up, like if they ask if I would like to put a hold on those tickets for 24 hours. LOL

Delta will let you cancel within the next day, but won't hold them.

I remember being able to "hold" tickets up until flight time. Of course, this was ~25 years ago... when they actually fed you meals on flights too. lol
