Hold out for cheap airfare or book now?

I am traveling from Hartford to Orlando May 21 and coming back May 31(Memorial Day). I am a little under 5 months out and airline tickets seem too high. May 21 is $136 and May 31 is May $168. I would like to wait a few weeks to see if prices drop, but I am also not very flexible with dates or times. I really want an AM non-stop flight May 21. Should I just book now to make sure I get the flights I want or will prices drop(and still be availability?)

Thanks

We're leaving from Boston on 5/24 and returning on 5/31. I am also finding the price to be a bit steep so I am waiting it out as I have a feeling the price is going to go down. I have no basis for this, but feel our chances are good based on the fact that prices were so cheap during the holiday season and remained cheap even within just a week or two before flying.

I bought our tickets a few weeks ago for our June trip. Non-stop from Portand, ME to Orlando for $94 each way. I'd be thrilled if it went down (Airtran gives credits for future use), but airfare from Portland is almost always much higher than that, so we booked it fearing that the price would go up or the flights we wanted would fill up. Our dates aren't very flexible, either.

Sign up for Farecompare.com and tell them the dates and where you want to fly and they will email you when rates go down (you set the price parameters).

I did this for our trip last month and got airfare on direct flights (good time) on Delta from hartford to MCO for $220. That was the lowest I ever saw those flights, they typically were $350 - $400. We booked in early June for an early December trip.

Would you be willing to fly out of White Plains? We always fly out of BDL to orlando and everywhere else but were able to get RT airfare for next Sept for $148/pp. That is RT not one way on Jet Blue for non-stop. We are saving over $1200 over what we would pay on Delta to get RT non-stop. Good Luck.
