anyone own a pair of Hoka Bondi 9s? im considering getting a pair i am just wondering if theyre really worth price tag that comes with them

I have Bondi 8. It is a very popular walking shoe. Personally, it isn't my favorite Hoka, but everyone's feet are different.

Your feet are priceless when walking around the parks all day. Break in those new shoes prior to trip and your good to go. They will last years if taken care off.

I disagree with the PP about how long they will last. Hokas, like any walking shoe, need to be replaced regularly to give you the benefits of good comfort and support. Must are rated around 300 miles. I prefer Saucony. Go to a running store and check your gait to find out the best brand and model for you.

Just coming to second this! The best thing I've ever done was have my feet/gait checked out at a running store. They did it at no charge here, and it's made my search for good walking/running shoes completely different. Hokas have been great for me, but everyone is different. I also have a really simple pair of Adidas shoes that are incredible for my feet - go figure! ;)

I will say as much as I love my Hokas and for me personally they have been feet savers however I do agree they aren't made to last any longer than other brands. I have one pair I barely used before the plastic by the heel became exposed rubbing against me thereby making it all but useless. I wear that pair to do yard work now or go to the local store. I think the sale prices you're seeing recently on the older models is about where they should be and represent a great value.

I'll be very honest. My daughter / son in law have been insisting I buy Hokas as I'm now having problems with my ankles due to Rheumatoid Arthritis. I am a VERY loyal wearer of Sketchers and love them very much. I've never ever had a shoe that I literally have at least 10 pair and all are comfy and wonderful from Day 1. Best. Shoe. Ever.

Well, they went ahead and bought me Hokas and I almost didn't accept the gift.
They insisted I at least wear at Disney as I go often with many long days walking. They were expensive so I did thankfully accept them and obediently wear them at Disney, Love the much needed support...especially around my ankles...and will continue to always wear when there is any considerable walking.

But I would be lying if I said I no longer will wear my beloved Sketchers for limited walking. They still blow me away with their comfort.
.

I bought the Hoka Bondi 8, tried them in the house… and returned them. The arch was too high or not well placed for my feet. Only you can determine which shoes fit you and I agree with PP, some stores might help.

Plantar Faciitis and a cyst in my achilles tendon...they are the only shoe that has helped me (tried several brooks, saucony's and new balances along the way). My feet and knees have never felt better (knees were starting to become an issue from favoring the achilles issue). My advice though, is take the time and get fitted. My dad also has similar issues to me, but a different foot shape. He prefers Saucony's and they help his issues better than Hoka's did.

I also tried not sure what type and it felt fine at the store but at home was not comfortable. I prefer the few different types of Sketchers I have.

I have them. Bought them after knee surgery but I do regret buying them. First, they are on the expensive side. Second, I have wide feet, and the wide size that I bought is still pretty snug. Third, they just fit....weird. I don't find them to be comfortable at all.

Please go to a good store like Fleet Feet and get evaluated. Try on as many pairs as you can. I was determined to get Hokas but they just didn't work for my feet. I ended up with New Balance fresh foam.

I bought some a month ago and they are OK. I prefer my Sketchers. And wish I bought On Cloud instead.

I agree with this. Depending on how used, running shoes should last between 300-400 miles.

A gait analysis is a must if using the shoes to run in.

I run in Saucony but walk in Bondi9s.

My ankle surgeon and my physical therapist have both told me to only wear shoes with a heel drop of at least 8mm. The heel drop is the difference between the front of the shoe and the heel of the shoe.

Hoka originally had a style of shoe called the Conquest that fit my 8mm drop need. I loved the Hokas so much that when they discontinued style, I went with the Cliftons, which were a 5mm drop at the time. Over time I developed arthritis in my knee and my physical therapist and doctor insisted on the 8mm or higher drop, which has cut down on the knee and ankle pain.

Both my doctor and PT have stated that if you have knee or ankle pain, 8mm drop or higher is better for you. Lower back or hip pain a lower drop is better.

I walk in the Bondi 9s with no issue but can't run a mile in them without pain.

OP, if you are using the shoes to walk in Bondi 9s may work. If you're using them to run in, I highly suggest the gait analysis and discussing your needs with a qualified specialist.

I got a pair of Bondi in a few months back for our to South Korea and Japan in June. So far I have just worn them for walks around the neighborhood and to the store to wear them in. I like them so far but the trip will be the real test. They are more bulky then I am use to be I feel secure which is good.

So i bought the Bondi 9's, i went to a running store and got fitted and tried on a bunch of pairs, i liked the clifton 9s but i loved the way the bondi 9s felt

My favorites are the Bondi 7's. They brought them back for a while last year and I bought 3 pair. So yes, I like them a lot! I do have a pair of the 8's, haven't had a need to buy the 9's yet. Though I may to try them to see if they are more like the 7's. I've tried the Clifton model, in 2 versions (can't remember the numbers) and I don't like them as much as the Bondi's. The Bondi's seem to have more cushioning to me. Yes, I have a sneaker problem!
