We are heading down for Spring break 2015 (me, DH, DS 11 and DD 9). We have previously stayed at Hojo ( 2009) and very much enjoyed the hotel and water play area.

Our other trips since 2009 have been to DLH and then 2 trips to WDW, staying in the Moderate category at Caribbean Beach Resort. We love the resort atmosphere, proximity to DTD and Disney feel of DLH . However, I just cant justify the triple price vs Hojo or CCI

So the question....Hojo or CCI? Can anyone help sway me one way or the other ?

Here are my pros and cons, what other pros and cons do you have?

Pros and cons
Hojo

Pros
Balcony
2 separate pool areas
larger room (I think?)
Keurig in room

cons
must cross the street
not many dining choices within walking distance of the hotel

CCI
Pros
in room breakfast
hotel shuttle
on Disney side of street
More within walking distance restaurants (city walk?)

cons
The hideous flowered bed spreads
older hotel

I have never stayed at Hojos but we frequently stay at CCI. Heres are my pros and cons...

Pro's:
Location
Free shuttle
Free decent breakfast
Attractive grounds
Free parking
Quiet
Very clean
Refrigerator in room
Affordable
Friendly staff
Comfy beds

Con's:
If I had to list a con I'd say that the decor is a little outdated. But, the hotel shines in so many other ways that this is not an actual issue for us. And I guess the fact that there are no suites at CCI is a con. Eventually our family of 5 will outgrow a regular room. We will likely find a hotel with a suite before renting two rooms at CCI.

We stayed at the CCI on our last trip. It was our first visit and we would definitely stay there again. I haven't stayed at the HoJo so I don't have a good comparison. But, here are the pros/cons for the Candy Cane Inn.

PROS:
Free poolside breakfast
Big enough pool with kiddie pool and decent shade if you want it
Free parking
Fairly close to park
Free hotel only shuttle
Candy canes to munch (my DD loved that)
Clean, comfy rooms
Had Pack n Play already setup when we arrived (sounds like a small detail, but it showed that they remembered my request and fulfilled it without asking)
Friendly staff
Fridge in room, microwave in premium rooms

CONS:
Wish breakfast had hot items (small annoyance)
Fridge was tiny! I was thinking dorm fridge but this was smaller than that.

That's all the bad points I can think of. We had a great stay - no problems!

And, as far as outdated decor, I thought our room was nice. The bedspreads were still bright and cheerful, not at all faded or dirty from years of use. They looked fairly new. The lighting fixture above the table was newish and the TV had a great picture.

A great place for us overall!

We have never stayed at the CCI, only HOJO. I always see the CCI shuttle pull up at the parks drop-off area, and that seems like a nice perk. We will continue to stay at the HOJO because we love the Kid's Suites, the gift shop, the decor, being able to eat at Mimi's, and of course the pool. I think their beds are some of the best. If we are tired we take the ART shuttle.

My only quibbles with CCI are their mattress and sheet quality. I find the mattresses too soft and unsupporting, and their sheets scratchy and over treated (they make me itchy). If they would just update those two things I would go with them all the time.

If the HoJo is the same price or less than CCI, I go with them, because I think their beds are super comfy. I also really like their garden pool area. The only drawbacks for me staying there are price, highway noise (once out of three times) and no breakfast.

I seem to alternate which one I stay at, loosely based on which has the better price. You really can't go wrong with either.

I have only been at HoJo, which is where we are staying again this Fall. For us we love that there is no shuttle. The mess we always see at peak shuttle times to head back are just to crazy for us. Within minutes we have walked back.

As well the water park is perfect for us! :)

The walk to Candy Cane and Hojo's are identical. I like the Candy Cane beds. The shuttle is like a free plus. You can walk or you can go to the shuttle. It is very nice because you will know it will be there at the Candy Cane on the hour and half, and you know it will be in the DLT shuttle area at the 15/45. The free breakfast is one of the better free breakfasts. Bagels, hard boiled eggs, danishes, cheese, yogurts, cereals, etc...

Here are my pros and cons

That's a very accurate and fair list. The CC Inn breakfast is good for Harbor Blvd standards. Much closer to other restaurants (Garden Walk).

Either hotel is good. If there's a big price difference that's what I'd go with.
