Hi everyone...I was looking at the HOJO's around the WORLD and I have a ? or 2. The HOJO Kissimmee is 2 miles from WDW and The HOJO MG East is 3 miles. The MG East is about $10 less a nite and I was wondering if there is any difference in the 2 property's. From the pictures I can find they look about the same, although the HOJO Kiss has a covered outdoor pool. Any info or suggestions for cheap lodging the 1st 2 weeks of Dec. is greatly appreciated.:D

Cheers:)

I will be honest......we stayed at the HoJo Maingate east on Sat, May 4. I had the most disgusting encounter with a roach WHILE I WAS SLEEPING. The motel was clean otherwise and I am fairly certain it came in through the cracks between the door and the doorframe. It was a horrible experience as I have an almost phobia of roaches. I canceled the reservation we had for later in the week and I'm probably not ever staying at any "Ro"Jo again.

Have you ever tried priceline? (just don't go below 2 1/2 stars!) We have had some good luck with it, stayed at a DoubleTree in New Orleans by the French Quarter last year for only $55 a night.

Good Luck!

We stayed at Howard Johnson Maingate East in January. We got robbed on day 5. Our door was tricky to shut (you had to pull it shut). We should have demanded to have another room (they had plenty) but we didn't cause we were settled in when we realized it. We assumed the maid would pay attention and leave the door shut (locked) when she left each day. Either she left the door unlocked that day or she took our stuff herself. The hotel made NO attempt at reimbursement or even room rate reduction/free night. I understand this but it still sucked. But I did find the hotel to be clean and well appointed for $29/night. You get what you pay for. There ARE roaches in Florida, even at Disney. It happens. If you want to save some $$ and are not too picky, HOJO is a good choice. If you want higher end accomodations with better service, go to Disney resorts or "nicer" hotels than HOJO and pay more. I've done both. We had a great trip, I'd still stay there again now that I'm "over it". We didn't get robbed of too much by the way, just some souveniers and Universal passes that the park replaced.

Tiggere,
We have roaches here in Texas too (and the one in Florida was Texas size!) but I have never had one crawling over me in bed while I was sleeping. I still shudder thinking about it. When I informed the front desk about it the guy replied, "oh my." No apology, nothing. I wasn't expecting anything at the price we paid but an apology would have been nice! Not very good customer service. I'm sorry to hear that you were robbed there but I'm glad your park passes were replaced.
