HoJo Entertainment Book Rate?

How do you go about getting this? Do I have to buy some kind of entertainment book? I've seen it mentioned around here before, but I'm not sure how to go about it!

oh, its super easy! - you can buy the book at this website:
http://www.entertainment.com/save/home

or, if that doesn't work, just type "entertainment book 2009" in to a search engine. You can buy for your local area and get a LOT of great coupons, plus the Entertainment Card.

You can ebay the card only for about $5; just have to get priority or express shipping depending onn where you're at.

You probably already know this, but you would need to book your room at the entertainment rate ahead of time so that they can give you that rate when you check in. If you haven't checked yet, it is available this Sunday, Mon, and Tues. according to Hojo's website. If you can get a card in time, you can call in-house reservations and have them change the rate for you. If not, you can get the 15% disboard rate. Call ahead of time and have them change your reservation to this rate before you arrive, if you don't have any discounted rate yet.

Thanks! Do I have to show anything for the 15% disboard rate when I check in? I haven't made reservations yet, am still waffling over whether to book at the PPH, but I don't think I want to spend close to $200 and risk the monorail not working again...

You don't have to show anything to get the 15% off at HoJo, except I think you need to book it at this rate-- by calling them directly.

If you can pick up an Ent book locally, you can still get the Ent rate at HoJo, again by calling them directly (today) between 9-5 and asking for IN House reservations. Any Ent book will do, you only need the card that comes pasted inside the front cover of the coupon book. In fact, if you know anybody who has a card, just borrow it. They only ask to see it, not take down the number or anything. If you need to buy the book, they are usually available at Barnes & Noble or Borders-- I'd call and ask if they have them.

At $59-79 a night, it's well worth it to buy the book!

Oh... just read that about not wanting to book PPH in case the monorail isn't working again...? The monorail isn't the best way to get into the parks, anyway. If you walk from PPH to DTD and the monorail entrance partway down it, you're taking the long way. It's shortest to walk across the street and go through the GCH lobby, and through their DTD entrance. Hope that helps!

I agree with Avalon 451. The discounted ent. rates at Hojo are so low that it would be totally worth it to buy the book to save the $. If you haven't been to Hojos, you will love it. The ent. rates aren't always available, and since they are available during this busy time of year, if it were me, I'd grab them.

Agreeing with Avalon!

Unless you really really want to start and end every day in Tomorrowland, choosing the monorail over just walking through GCH is not a time or footstep-saving way to go.

Call them directly at the 714 number, talk to "in house reservations". Find out when you'd need to cancel (not sure if it's 24 hours or more) in case dyou can't get the book. Get the rate if the cancelation time is adequate. I've seen ent books at Borders, so check that out.

The Entertainment book has the card in the front of the book. You can purchase the book to use the coupons, etc. but you don't need the book to use the ent. rate. If you don't want to buy a book, you can just borrow a card (any card from any area will work), or sometimes there are cards for sale on E-bay. All you need is the card at check-in, and you don't need it until then. You can book the ent. rate without the card and pick it up before your trip.

The monorail is better for us because we visit the park a lot, and we generally prefer to skip Main Street when we go. Ooooh, Bumbershoot and I have both been there with little ones too tired to make the walk, esp. at the end of the day! Can I recommend you bring a stroller? You can just bring a cheapie umbrella stroller and then leave it at the stroller rental place during the day (they'll hold onto it for you) if your little one won't sit in a stroller around the parks. However, my almost 6 year old rode around in a Disney rental stroller all day quite happily-- gave her legs a break, and we lasted much longer because of that. Regardless of where you stay, I highly recommend a stroller, either your own nice big one if you can haul it with you, or a cheap one you can switch for a rental when you get to DL. The walk to HoJo is really on a par with PP, but at the end of the day, that stoplight way down there on Manchester looks SOOOO far away!

About the shortcut through the Grand Californian-- I didn't mean that you should go all the way through it and come out in California Adventure. You go out the entrance to DTD. Here's the route: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=88738 If you look on that map, and compare how much farther you'd have to walk up to cross in front of Disneyland Hotel, you'll see it cuts off a huge swath. We have a stroller, she's just too large. But we're familiar with Disney, we go about once a week or every other week. We're just not familiar with the nearby hotels, because we live in the area and never stay at any of them. We have AP's with parking, so we won't be walking from HoJo, we'll drive and take the tram.
