I don't think I've ever watched as much hockey in my life as I have in the last five days. My five day hockey marathon started last Friday up in Montreal, when I watched my niece play two hockey games in a tournament.

On Saturday, I watched my niece play another game, and then went to watch a Montreal Canadiens v. Boston Bruins game. My beloved Bruins won 1-0. It was a fantastic game, and I got a great front row balcony seat on the blue line from a sclaper for just $7 above face value. The scalpers up in Montreal are a lot nicer than the scalpers here in Boston :)

On Sunday, I went to see my niece play in the Championship game of her tournament. Her team lost 1-0, but they played a tough game, and had many great scoring chances, but the goalie for the other team was just too good. My niece played a fantastic game, though. I was the proudest aunt at the rink :)

Yesterday, my hockey marathon continued at my nephews high school hockey game against my hometown. It was a very exciting, hard hitting game, but unfortunately, my nephew didn't even play in the game. He's one of the youngest kids on the team, and the coach just didn't play him at all.

My hockey marathon continued tonight when I got free tickets to the Boston Bruins v. Atlanta Thrashers game. It was a very exciting 5-4 win for the Bruins. My sister and I had a blast.

So, tomorrow night, I'll probably be going through withdrawals from not going to a hockey game. What will I do with my time?

Watch the highlights from last night on NESN. ;)

I only caught parts of the game last night but that must have been so much fun to be at. What a win! And seeing the Bruins in Montreal...How awesome is that?! I tried doing that once, we went all the way up there and then the NHL went on strike.
Glad you are having a good hockey week! :D

Did you see that hit at the blue line on the highlights. It was Jeff Jillson of the B's and one of the Thrashers guys. Both flipped in the air, and had a lot of airtime. Looked like it hurt. They showed it repeatedly from several different angles on the jumbotron.

Ouch! I missed that part. Were they ok? I can imagine the Fleet Center must have been going nuts when they showed the replays of that!

Sounds like a blast to me!!!! ;)

Thursday night there's supposed to be a show about Jim Craig, the "making of Miracle" and a tape of the actual 1980 Lake Placid game. Then Friday you can go see "Miracle! :teeth: :hyper:

Both players got right up after the hit. I know they are well protected, but it must have hurt. I got achy just watching it!

The Fleet Center was nuts when they showed the replay. Some of the angles they showed it from looked so much worse than other ones. It was quite a hit :)

Thanks for the ideas to help me continue my hockey marathon, Ann! What a friend!

I'm planning on seeing Miracle on Saturday afternoon. I was supposed to work OT on Saturday, but I'm squishing lots of extra hours into the next few days so that I don't have to work on Saturday :)

We never did plan that DIS meet to see Miracle, Ann. My life has just been too crazy the past month!

You're welcome ! ;) :)

No we never planned a meet...but we will!
I wonder how long the movie will run in the theatres? If it's still playing in March, we should do it! Even if it's NOT still playing, we should still have a meet....there are LOTS of Boston area DISers!!!

You can say that again!

Monday night was the beanpot (I don't wanna talk about it ;) ). Is it wrong that I was debating flying home on Saturday instead of Friday so I didn't miss our home game?

No worries, Valentines day weekend we have two home games at Northeastern :)

I'm dragging my whole family to see Miracle on Saturday, can't wait.

I can't wait for you guys to see the movie! I saw the sneak preview last Sat night and am planning to go down to Framingham Sunday and take my mom and dad....

Grog...thanks for that link!!

Evil Princess....I was SO hoping NU would beat BU in the Beanpot first round....good luck in the consolation game....please root for BC in the final ;) :teeth:

I was QUITE angry at the Fleet Center on Monday. We just didn't have it that night. BU wanted it more than we did...I don't know, hurts me to think about it, lol ;)

I will def root for BC, BU has won far too many Beanpots.
