Hello DLP gurus :worship:

We're looking at going to HNY in August. There will be 5 of us going, DW, DD(3) my mum and nan along with myself. I have priced up 2 rooms and it's coming up and £1900/£2300 for 3/4 night respectively. Which is OK (Mum is paying towards it otherwise it would be another chilly November trip :) ) However if we're paying two and a half grand is there any way we could get more value for our money?

My question is are there and rooms or suites that would be able to accomadate all of use, preferabaly with seperate sleeping areas. We would like proper beds for the adults as well (DD will be fine on a sofa bed or even just a sofa). What sort of prices would we be looking at for a suite? Any options at the other hotels?

I have a feeling that the suite option is going to be a bit expensive. Any ideas on pricing for the empire state club?

One last question: The last 3 times we've been to HNY dd has been in a cot and we've been put in a kingsize room with a sofa in it which I'd love to be able to do again. Does anyone know if the sofa is also a sofa bed? if not do the cushions come off for me to be able to make dd an improvised bed out of?

I hope this makes sense.

Thank you so much.

Mark

The standard room configuration is usually two double beds or a kingsize bed, which is what you've had previously by the sound of it.

I don't know if the sofa is a bed or not, sorry.

As far as I can tell, the suites accommodate 4 only. However I did find one on youtube, that had a downstairs and upstairs - don't know if the downstairs would accommodate sleeping. It looks amazing, but probably very pricey - see it here

Also the Empire State Club rooms are no different to the standard rooms. They are just on a separate floor and you get benefits such as VIP fastpasses, afternoon refreshments and a separate room for breakfast.

I think that 2 rooms will be your best bet. If you can hang off a while, there might be a better discount after this one finishes (30 April). Never guaranteed, but it seems to be the pattern with Disney.

Thanks Julie.

Yeah I thought that might be the answer. I have considered waiting untill the next offer but baring a last minute 50% flash sale, do the offers ever get any better than 40% off. The base prices have gone up so much in the last couple of years that even with the discounts the prices are still expensive.

Does anyone have any idea of the sort of offers they are likely to run?

Also I've read on here many times about people saying that they would cancel and rebook if other offers come up? Is this still possible, do you get penalised at all for doing this?

Thanks

I've never cancelled and re-booked but I have been lucky with a 50% flash sale before. If there's going to be one, it will be within a few days of the current offer finishing. It will be selected dates though, so you just need to wait and see.

The good news is that with HNY being a higher end hotel, you will be likely to get the full 50%. But, be quick. Don't delay booking as the biggest discounts get snapped up quickly.

If there is a flash sale, once it finishes there will likely be another standard offer, possibly just free days/nights or 40% again.

I agree, the rack rate is very high. There is no way we could go without the discounts and we've been lucky the last few years. Hope you manage to find a deal that suits pixiedust:

£2300 is an awful lot of money for 4 nights. Add in spending money and you are looking at £3000.

The Disneyland Hotel room for 5 is 2 double beds and a sofabed (all in the same room). Newport bay have similar rooms.

Another option might be to get a suite at Sequoia Lodge with an adjoining room. Not sure how much that would work out at though.
