Day 1

Alarm goes at 6am we showered and washed our hair the night before so quickly get changed and drive to the Euro Tunnel for out 7:50 crossing (thanks MR T). This was so easy we just drove up and pressed the button and all our details were there we had a choice of a 7:20 cross which we took.

On the train we had our breakfast cereals which we took and the kids had some milk. Took just under 3 hours to reach our hotel for just one night Première Classe at Bussy st George.

Tolls were 20.20e and paid by credit card ok. James watched Walle and Emily watched Tinkerbelle on the portable DVD players during the journey.

Room was much smaller then Travelodge and bathroom very small similar to a ship / ferry Kids loved the bunk beds. Room was clean, but I am sure both DS and DH got bit by bedbugs. We arrived around lunch time so we had our sandwiches and pot noodles and a nice cuppa lucky we had brought our travel kettle.

DS and DD had surprise number one DH distracted them in the bathroom whilst I hung up a Tigger and Ariel costume which I had won on Ebay and I put a Tigger and Ariel Pen on there pillows ready for Autograph hunting. Let’s just say there were very excited.

After a rest we drove to Disney Village and Parked at the Di Vinci car park which cost 8e
We spend a while looking in all the windows at the decorations and in the shops. DS brought a Toy Story autograph book and DD a Disney Princess autograph book. Next we wanted to ride the Balloon, but there were signs up saying it were too windy – BOO.

We decided to see if we could get our park tickets for the next day at HNY and the CM explained they did not have them yet, but to come back after the fireworks. We was early for our 6:15 reservation for Café Mickey so spent some time taking photos of the lovely Christmas trees and other stuff in the hotel the kids enjoyed colouring and watching Playhouse Disney in the Roger Rabbit kids area.

We got to Café Mickey at 6pm and they let us in early. It was quite there and they were not using the conservatory no characters were out yet. We got a table next to where the characters come out so each time a new character came they went to our table first.
We had only just taken our coats, hats etc off when Stitch came out who was a bit naughty. We ordered a margarita pizza and garlic bread to share and no drinks much to our server’s disgust. I find Café Mickey really expensive for the food so only really wanted to order the bare minimum. DD really loved the secret revealler pen and DS the glasses which pop out. The food was really nice; we did not get any plates so DH had to get up to ask. In the middle of our meal Tigger appeared and he was really pleased to see James was dressed as him and that he had a tigger pen, they spend a long time bouncing together. We tried to string our meal as long as possible as we were waiting to see the fireworks at 8:30. So I asked for the dessert menu. I don’t think there is much choice. I ordered the Woody choc Ben and Jerry’s thing for DD and DS to share. The CM gave us the bill with our dessert; I think there was trying to get people in and out as quick as possible. We saw Stitch, Mickey, Minnie, Tigger, Eeoyre, Mr Smee, Goofy, Pluto, Timon, Emile, Chip & Dale. And left just after 8pm.

We were disappointed to fine out the fireworks had been cancelled, but then pleased to find they had been postponed until the next day when we would actually be staying at the HNY.

We went to the HNY to pick up our tickets and Easy pass for the next day. We got our tickets OK and the CM said you will notice that you Easy pass is green that means you are entitled to extra benefits a character breakfast each day which you can go anytime 7-11 without a slot on the Empire Floor - :cool1::cool1:Who Hoo we were so excited I have never been upgraded in my life.

We went back to our hotel for an early night. We had free WIFI so has a quick look at the weather report (not good) and the DIS forum before we went to bed.
