Tried it just now and it looks like it is locked to certain regions on the world .... My wife and I are back in the UK now, so it looks like we are blocked. Still, we have contacts now in CA, so hopefully they can get us something sorted.

Yes, agreed about VPNs. Another (free) solution might be to try a TOR browser.
