I was just wondering since my oldest is finally tall enough to ride some of the 'thrill' type rides...and we have one that's still too little yet...

If I get 3 FPs (for DH, DD#1 and myself) would DD#1 get to ride both times or just once?

note: I'm not trying to get around FPs 'rules' or anything its just that I would like some company on rides sometimes :grouphug: and DD#1 is such a 'Daddy's' Girl princess: that I may get lonely...:worried:

Is your younger child old enough to have a ticket? If so, then you could get 4 fast passes and DD1 could ride twice. Otherwise you would have to use whatever kidswap procedure they have for that specific ride, instead of fast pass. With kidswap she could ride twice.

On some rides I prefer the kidswap, like Test Track. The second person goes up the exit and doesn't have to watch the pre-show, which drives me nuts!

When you give the CM your fastpass they will give you a child swap ticket good for up to 3 people. So, yes, your older child can ride twice.

That is another affirmative on the yes he can ride twice. We used FP / baby swap combo for many rides and my older DS was able to ride with both DH and myself.

When you come back at your FP time show them your fast passes and tell them you are doing the baby swap ... they will give you a baby swap pass that will allow you to go through the FP line with a guest (or two!)

In all the times that I have been to WDW, this is the first time we will be doing the Baby Swap. In regards to getting FastPasses before we ride, do both dh and I have to get a Fastpass, or just one of us? Will my son need a Fastpass for the first ride, and then he will get a "freebie" to ride with the other parent?

TIA!! :earsgirl:

I once had a CM at Tower of Terror tell me that we couldnt use a baby swap if we had fast passes. Im not sure why. So from then on, I always went with the baby to get the baby swap ( which is a fast past good for 4 people, including the person sitting out ) and then everyone else went in line using their fast passes. When DH & the kids came out, I went on and the girls got to go back on again with me. They used to let you go to where you got off the ride to wait, and then you went right back on. Now you get a fast pass, so you have to stand back in line, and go thru the preshows again.

Fastpass and baby swap are really two separate issues.

When going to a ride, you deicde for that particular ride you are going to do fastpass or go in the standby line. Also, in the meantime, when I get to the ride, I ask how they handle baby swap. Most now give a Fastpass good for all day for up to 4 people. So I get one of those as well.

So many times, what I did was got the fastpasses for my WHOLE group of 4. Then two of us would ride first with regular fastpasses; parent #1 and child who can ride. Then we'd use the second set of fastpasses (we got one for the child who cannot ride) for parent #2 and again child who can ride. Then we'd use that baby swap fastpass for yet another ride with one parent again and the child who can ride. So this way the child who can ride, rides 3 times and one parent gets to ride twice.

We've also just done standby with one parent/child and then used the baby swap for the other parent/child again.

I hope this makes sense and helps!

IMHO, get the fastpass for the child who isn't riding so your older child can ride even more if you want!

thats what we do to. Get our fast passes first, then get the baby swap pass. We have 2 kids that can ride, and one who cant, so this way, the our 2 DD's can ride twice in a row. Since the baby is now 3, we can actually have one of the girls ride a third time with the extra fast pass we never had before. Might cause some fighting, but they would like that! A reason to fight! LOL

Oh, and as for the CM telling me I couldnt use both SP & baby swap, he wouldnt give me the baby swap pass because we all had a fast pass. He said, once the 3 of them came off the ride, I could go back on with MY fast pass, so I didnt NEED a baby swap pass. Technically, that was true.. but I WANTED to ride it with the kids, and not alone!!!

I have never encountered that problem. I just walk up to the ride and ask how they handle baby swap. I do not even let them know whether I'm doing standby or fastpass.

It may have been the first time we did the baby swap for Tower of Terror, because we were asking how they handled it. It was different at Space Mountain that year. We actually sat where they unload, and then went from there. But when we went to ask what to do for ToT, we had our fastpasses in our hand and thats when he said we couldnt do both. Im wondering if thats a rule?? I always feel like we have to 'sneak' to get the baby swap pass when we have fast passes. But who likes to ride by them selves???:sad2: Not me!

Splash mountain has a great baby swap. You end up going through the exit and right up to the front.

This is what we did last month.

Get fastpass for everyone in party that could get one. Show up at the ride during our fastpass time, and ask for a baby swap ticket(up to 3 riders), which they give to you. Have one person wait with the kid, while the others use their fastpasses. When they get back, take the baby swap ticket and ride again
