I was looking in my UG this morning at the crowd levels for this week and he has them listed as a 5 except Saturday which is a 7. This week all the days have been a 5. I would of thought it would be listed higher with the holiday on Monday and with all the Disney busses we saw at the airport last night.

I also saw a bunch of school groups (some kind of sports team) coming in last night so I wonder if that has something to do with the hotels being sold out this weekend?

Just found it interesting. DH is off on Monday so we may head down there and check things out this weekend.

UG just updated the chart two days ago. Today and Sunday are now "6", and Saturday is still "7". The cold weather might keep more locals at home, but I still expect it to be pretty busy this weekend.

Yes, the UG has a web site where you can view the updated crowd level chart:

http://www.touringplans.com/BestDays.htm

(it's listed in the UG in several places, either where he's talking about crowd levels or the touring plans, just in case the link doesn't show up here)

One reason for the updated chart was that the EMH schedule for each park changed dramatically in Jan. The old chart was based on the old schedule.

We were in MK today (Friday). Space Mountain had a 40-minute wait at 12:30. I don't know what # that is in the UG guide, but that's THE peak ride in MK at a peak time. Early in the morning everything was a walk-on except Space Mountain. BTW, Carousel of Progress is open.

The Crowd Level column is based on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being least crowded conditions and 10 being most crowded. The scale measures the peak wait time at the Magic Kingdom's three headliner attractions (Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad). Thus, the Crowd Level is a "worst case" scenario, predicting the longest wait at any of these three attractions on a particular day.

1 = Peak wait times of 14 minutes or less
2 = Peak waits of 15 - 24 minutes
3 = Peak waits of 35 - 34 minutes
4 = Peak waits of 35 - 44 minutes
5 = Peak waits of 45 - 54 minutes
6 = Peak waits of 55 - 64 minutes
7 = Peak waits of 65 - 74 minutes
8 = Peak waits of 75 - 84 minutes
9 = Peak waits of 85 - 94 minutes
10 = Peak waits of 95 minutes or more
