Assuming 2 br availability for dates I'd be seeking --

Which would you do -- 2 days at HH on way to 10 days at BWV or 2 days at BCV after the BWV?

We would love to try either. We pass right by HH on our way to WDW -- might be a good chance to let family check it out for a future (longer) stay?

And then there's BCV... kids would love to try SAB. (THat's why I'd put it AFTER bwv.)

Any thoughts?

I'd go for HH and have a change of pace, plus use the chance of checking out the resort for a future break. A couple of days at HH would really put you in "vacation mode" and it might give you a chance to recharge your batteries ready for an all out assault on WDW :D.

ck1,
While the pool at SAB is great, and my DS12 and DS10 love it, I would stop off at HHI. There are many things to do both at the resort and aroung the island. We have stayed on HH many times, but this summer was our first time at Disney's resort.
While I missed the sunrises over the ocean, HHI has many other things going for it. Most important is that it doesn't seem nearly as crowded as the other places we have stayed. Maybe because there are two pools to choose from as well as the beach and other activities on the island. The CMs at the resort are wonderful and my boys loved the activities they did. Don't know how old your kids are but they have activities for all ages. (crafts, dolphin cruises, exploring the marsh, crabbing/fishing off the pier, pool parties, organized pool games, games for teens, etc., etc.)
It is very relaxing and a nice change of pace from the parks and crowds at WDW.
BTW, where are you in WV? We live in OH, across the river from Huntington, but work and go to school in WV.

Hi,

I'd do HHI after BWV. Could you change BWV to BCV instead maybe? Just a thought. Have fun!

Answers:

(1) We can see OH from our street!

(2) When we leave WDW, we're so drained and depressed we just wanna go straight home. I wanted dh and kids to see HHI in an "energized" state -- not a blue funk, so that's why I thought first might work best.

As for staying at BCV instead of BWV... only if I get more pts! (going for that std view BWV room...) BWV is our home and we've never "done" it... kinda feel like we owe it to ourselves and our recent add-on purchase to at least TRY it, lol!

We chose to do Hilton Head before Disney and I'm glad we did. We all able to "decrompress" from our stressful daily lives and then hit the parks refreshed. Be warned though after a few days of R&R at Hilton Head you may not want to check out! It's so peaceful and relaxing there.

DH and I are doing the Disney cruise in November for our anniversary and we both are feeling a little regret (of course we have never cruised before) over skipping Hilton Head this year. My sister is trying to talk us into an Alaskan cruise next year so that would mean two years in a row of missing Hilton Head and I know I'll definitely be going through withdrawal symptoms by then (lol).

Have a great trip no matter what you decide!
