History of DINGS Fares for Orlando

If SWA needs to sell more seats going both ways then there will be DINGs for both way. If they only need to fill up one way then there will only be DINGs going the one way. In May and June I was seeing DINGs for both directions for the airports that interest me. For July, the few DINGs I'm seeing do have one way only.

The DINGs will be listed as only the one direction. You need to register for both airports to see both directions listed.

Another awesome Ding! Not! :rotfl:

Coupon email from SWA arrives in 3-5 days, so 10 minute email addresses won't work and please be patient.

I can't find where you register for the $25 code and yes I am blonde. :lmao: If i click on the Southwest photo at the bottom left it just brings me to their page to book trips to Florida, nothing about using a code or getting an email.

I also tried inviting 'friends' to Florida but all that seemed to do was register me for the Miata.

Hay-ELP!

To quote Emily Latella, "Never mind." ;) The email just arrived in my inbox. Thanks anyway!

The past few years I have yet to see a single DING fare for PHX to MCO for September. I keep looking for deals but just don't ever find anything. Right now fares on most airlines are around $300. I expect to see them drop to $275 in the next month or so but thats about it. In 2007 this same fare was $200 and most airlines did not charge bag fee! I hope to find a deal with SW as they aren't charging for bags yet.

Just saved $72 by rebooking our return flight -- fare went from $207 to $189.

Not much, but any little bit helps!

Emmabelle.......:rolleyes1

Just got them! :worship:

I was flipping out because for the flight down, the site came up with the page to pay and it kept saying that I was missing info and yet there was no where to fill it in! I had to back out and the second time I did it, the payment info portion of the page was there. :woohoo:

I only saved $80 in total, but hoping to use that towards a trip in January! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

I did, and they still showed "sold out." :sad2: I have $109 now, so even with the Dings that they've been offering, I'm only going to save another $80 to $100, so it's ok if I don't end up with one. :)

emmabelle, did you book at $109 with the $25 off coupon? If so you'll have made out about $10 better per rt than a $99 Ding.

:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

I just recently tried to get the $25 off coupon, but it hasn't come yet. I originally booked the $109 before the coupon was available. ;)

I'm glad you caught the Ding then!

Now, to ebci or not to ebci? That is the question. Think I'll check in manually on the way down. I might buy ebci for the way home as our flight is around 8:30 at night and we'll want to be off having fun.

that's what I'm thinking! :thumbsup2 My kids are 18 and 20, so as long as I can sit with my 18 yr old daughter, we'll be fine. lol

It is apparent that my July 1 return date is in the "black-out" zone. (So no savings there) I'll be on the lookout for April fares sometime this fall I'm guessing. April dings will start around mid-February I hope.

yup, fourth of July screwing it up for you! ;)

YAY! I got my DING fare for my return trip (MCO - MHT) for $99/pp. Unfortunately, the MHT - MCO DING wasn't available for my outbound trip. So I'm still waiting. I'd even take Boston - MCO for my outbound, if the price is right.

Waiting, waiting, waiting............:surfweb:

ETA: I'm now 8 weeks out from my check-in date, so I'm starting to get antsy about booking my flight in time to get my ME arrangements made. Arrrggghh!

I got the code now, so if the rates go back down to at least $109 (their currently $154), I'll be tempted to rebook again. I could save an additional $30 off. :thumbsup2 I'm glad I have the code, but then again it would be nice not to be checking every day to see if SW lowers their fares! ;)

Fellow Southwesters...

I need your opinon.

We are traveling from Philly to MCO next month (4 of us) for a last minute (ie decided 50 days out instead of 18-24mo out!) trip. I have judiciously purchased tickets over the last few weeks...first for all four of us to MCO ($100/ea) and then for dh's return ($100... he's returning 1 day earlier than the rest of us) and then come the return for the rest of us.

The fare was $118 for a few weeks and last Thursday morning the price dropped to $100. I tried to purchase 3tix and it was once again $118, but I was able to purchase ONE ticket at the $100 price.

Friday morning...again did a search for one ticket...$100, two tix...$118/ea.
Bought ticket two at $100 but still need one more ticket.

Our return is on 6/21 so we are 36 days out from the flight.

What do you think, should I just suck it up and purchase the ticket for my four year old at $118 or wait a few more days to see if it drops again???

I would buy the ticket just for the peace of mind and since it's only a $18 difference. :thumbsup2 It seems that these days fares go up when you get closer, but then I fly out of New England. ;) It's a crap shoot, sometimes you buy at just the right time and sometimes you don't. lol
