History of DINGS Fares for Orlando

I've seen quite a few dings for Manchester, there better be one for July, when I need it!

Glad I found this thread - I'm stressing out about the cost of flying to MCO from Hartford in Aug. There are 5 of us and it is so expensive this year. Are any of you concerned about flights selling out before a better price comes along? I am thinking I should book the flight and then watch the prices for a credit. Any thoughts -

I wouldn't want to pay the $151 each way. I probably would book the $119, if any of the dates worked out, but that would be my threshold. If you need to fly on a weekend, then that's a little more of a worry. I purposely booked my flights, Weds to Weds, so that I had a little more of a chance of getting a lower fare.

STILL waiting for anything reasonable in late June/early July. The June Orlando to Hartford fares don't help me -- I need Hartford TO Orlando (or Tampa)!!

I did notice that the fares went up a little over the weekend -- from $134 to $144. I'm hoping this means there will be either a sale or a Ding coming soon. I've seen this before, they raise their price to make it look like an even better deal when the sale comes out.

Or at least I'm hoping that's what they did!!

Quick question: I was able to use today's ding to book my flight to Orlando. The flight from Orlando at the time I wanted said "sold out." This means there is no chance at all for getting this flight at a ding discount, correct?? There is no need for me to wait for another ding to book the return flight, right?

I finally caved and booked our flight down at $130 one way. The fare was holding steady at $134 for the longest time, then last week they bumped it up to $144. Now they started a 'sale' today and it's $130. I'm still hoping for a Ding fare, but I doubt the 'regular' price will go below $130 -- so if there's no ding, this is the best we could have gotten.

I booked BDL to MCO in Sept at $114.00 and am hoping for a ding. I was afraid to wait as there is only one non-stop flight out in the morning.

I am waiting for a Ding for July too. I can't believe how much flights have gone up from last July! I haven't booked anything yet because the fares are so high. I am getting a little nervous because both of the flights that I want have gone up in the past week.

I still haven't booked MCO to BDL for the middle of August for our return trip because it is still over $200 one way!!! I really, really need a ding....here's hoping and wishing............

Did anyone see the 'special deals' that Southwest advertised today to Florida? What a laugh. It's only through June 23rd (and only on Tues, Weds, and Sat) --- and they're not deals! BDL fares as low as $134.

Oh, this is frustrating. Having to check every day multiple times waiting for that all-important Ding fare (or sale) is starting to wear on me. Our return flights are during the July 4th weekend so I'm waiting to see what day will be the cheapest for us to fly back on... thinking it will be July 4th, but that is a Sunday...

They have to pay for that new plane & paint job somehow so why not take it out on those flying to/from FL. I feel like watching SW's pricing is like going to Kohls: mark 'em up then mark 'em back down (but not all the way) and call it a sale.

I feel the economy has hurt not only the airfare prices but the marketing team's creativity. SW's Ding! texts used to be a lot more fun. I looked forward to reading them just for laughs.

I'm trying to recall some of the best sales SW has run: Wasn't there a day they have something called a crazy 8s sale? Is it Aug 8 only?
