You still will not be able to get the Ding fares if you don't have Ding downloaded to your PC.
This is not true. It is doable, but not easy. I can view the Dings on my cell phone which doesn't have a Ding compatible version.
Before you ask, here is how I have done it. Again, its not easy, but it does allow me to track the Dings when I only have my phone. If you have an internet ready smartphone (I have the Q), you can book them from your phone as well, but I would rather run home or borrow a computer. I have been know to stop in a foreign town to visit the library just to check a ding because they had free internet access..
Somewhere in the first few post, there is a link to flyertalk's southwest thread. It describes how to create a backdoor for you ding.
Once you have created your backdoor, that backdoor will give you the URL for the upcoming DING and tell you when it becomes available, when it will expire. It does not tell you what cities, you have to wait until the actual DING is released and then got to that URL listed in the backdoor.
Next, I have created a "dummy" bookmark on my phone's internet browser. From the backdoor Ding, I take the upcoming Ding's ID nubmer and type it into my dummy URL and then I can view the Ding on my phone.
Again, not easy, but for us addicks, it is better than a support group. (actually, this thread is my support group

). You understand. Happy Dinging.
