Historically, what are the chances of FD in early December?

We are planning to go 2nd week (to avoid POP Warner ), we have a stay/play/dine PIN but am wondering if FD would work out better thats IF it will be offered.

Has FD been offered for that period before?

Not sure about historically - but they did offer free dining later in the year, it extended into the first part of 2012. It was announced in August of last year.

Disney World has announced another great FREE Dining Promotion. For select arrival dates between October 2, 2011 - March 31, 2012, you can receive a FREE Disney Dining Plan when a 4-night / 5-day Magic Your Way room and ticket package is purchased for select Walt Disney World Resort hotels

2011: Oct. 2-8, Oct 23-Nov 5, Nov 13-19, Nov. 27-Dec 3, Dec 11-17 and then some 2012 dates.

I could only hope that they offer it again this year so I could take advantage of it because it will be during my travel dates.

I'd book the deal you have, and if a better offer comes out, switch. With the Fantasyland Expansion opening late this year, I woudln't take anything for granted.

Now that is a very good point, thank you. Completely forgot about the expansion - heck knows how! lol

We got it during that week last year! And apparently it's historically been offered then. Obviously anything can happen, but honestly discounts this year have been about the same as last year IMO.

We had FD for our December 2010 trip - it wasn't a pin for just us but a general offer.

Last year we were there right after thanksgiving, first week of December. our friends with us took advantage of the free dining then. I remember it wasn't until August that the deal came out for the free dining.
The year prior, 2010, there was also free dining then....and I believe in 2009 there was also. All were general public offers... though prior to that August release date last year I know there were some pins out there for it.
