We just found out we will HAVE to move our BIG family get together up. I want to stay away from big crowd times and try to get some decent airfare.

We are looking at going end of April or May 2005. For those that have traveled during that time frame have there been good airfare deals. I am assuming I should wait until Southwest opens their schedule up and the other airlines will follow suit.

Any travelers out there during that time frame want to share their past experiences?

This past April (last week of April), we flew USAirways from Pittsburgh to Orlando. When I bought the tix in February or early March, they were about $215 round trip, nonstop. Not bad. A few weeks later, the price dropped to $156 round trip, nonstop. Pretty good.

Sorry, I don't know much about the rates from your area to Orlando. But my sense is that the rates for travel just after Easter and spring breaks will tend to drop a bit.

BTW, we found the crowds last April (4/24-4/28) to be very manageable, if you get there early and have a plan. You'll have a great time.
