Hisprincess' planning journal, March 04, 2008! SP/CG/Morocco DP

Thanks princessdisneybelle. Thats what I was thinking also. As pretty as that set is and as much as I do like it, I like the other as much. I also think that it could take away from the dress having the more detailed necklace and I don't want that.

Yeah I totally agree!

I just talked to Doreen yesterday who has been my contact at DFTW so far, and she said that she got my contract and I should be assigned and contacted by my WP in about 3 weeks! Yay, I can't wait! In the meantime, I am going shopping today to buy my jewelry and maybe some other things. I am thinking that I want add some hidden rhinestone mickeys to my veil. I also decided that the heals on my shoes were a little to tall. I am not much shorter than DF, so I felt a need to fix them. I would have returned them, but they were just too cute IMO. So, DF helped me chop the heals off and I think that they turned out well and are MUCH shorter now. (I was also worried about this because of being on the beach and all at SP)

I found these placecard holders also. I still am deciding on which ones to use, and I am waiting to find out if FSIL and her DH, DD, and FDS will be comming or not so that I can know how many I need.

I'm going to buy some bubbles too for after the ceremony as I think this can be really pretty walking back down the aisle with bubbles all over.

I was also considering adding some orchids to my bouquet when I saw this pick, but I'm not sure yet.

I also decided that this is the cake that I want and will be getting..

I going to see about getting glitter put on it and possibly an Ariel and Eric topper

Well, I just decided that I really want the theme the wedding to be an "under the sea" "the little mermaid" type of theme. I just LOVE the movie and the ocean in general, so this would just fit me perfectly. I am going to get this placecard holder and cover it with sand to make it look like a sand castle, I think it'll look good.

My original plan was to do a fairytale under the sea type of theme, but thought it would be too difficult to bring it together well. I have decided that I can at least do it for at disney as they can make anything look good!

Hey, just happened upon your thread. I'm not getting married anytime soon, but I love hearing about other people's weddings and their planning processes. Anyway, so far, I am loving everything you have picked out. :) Your dress is beautiful! Oh yeah, I wanted to say: I'm sort of from Michigan, too. Not really, but I go to school there, so yay! And you look really young... how old are you? Anyway, I wish you the best and I can't wait to see how everything turns out! :)

Aw thank you and welcome to my PJ! It's nice to run across another michigander too! I guess that compared to how old many people are when they get married these days i'm not that old. I just turned 22 on March 23, but I am told regularly that I look younger than that also.

Hi - I'm another who just stumbled across here - also not getting married anytime in the remote future...

but I'm from Michigan too, currently living in Grand Blanc, so I'm extremely close you and FigmentFan (I believe was the user name...)

small world!

best wishes to you and FDH!

Welcome! I wanted to move to Grand Blanc once we got married, but we decided it would be just a bit far for DF to drive to work.

Welcome! I wanted to move to Grand Blanc once we got married, but we decided it would be just a bit far for DF to drive to work.

I just moved over here last August, I'm originally from Port Huron. I like it pretty well so far.

One of the ladies in my office lives in Montrose and she commutes in to Flint everyday (yeah, I work in Flint but chose to live in GB instead) she doesn't seem to mind it most days, traffic is fairly light.

It's really neat that you guys are doing the Disney wedding. I would LOVE to do a Disney wedding. Dbf and I haven't even started talking about marriage yet (though he just graduated from school & the police academy last month) and his initial reaction when I told him I was going to WDW w/ my parents for the first time was "Disney's dumb" (a statement he's since tried to retract) hopefully he'll come around....

btw your dress is gorgeous and really suits you!

Oh I'm so excited for you! My first trip was just this last December/January and it was just amazing!! I can't wait to go back. I'm trying to get myself down there this summer for wedding purposes, but it's probably not gonna happen. There were numerous times that I teared up just from being there. Has your DBF ever been there? I can't believe he would call it dumb if he has! I have my fingers crossed for you that you will be able to have a disney wedding one day when that time comes for you.

I plan on working in Flint at Hurley and currently drive to SVSU almost daily, so I'm used to the driving, but DF only has to drive a matter of a couple of miles to were he has to meet up for work (he does excavating so they meet then go to job sites) so he thinks that almost anywhere is too far to drive. I just think he's being a baby about it (but don't tell him:lmao:)

Dbf has been, but not since he was much younger, probably somewhere in the 11 years old bracket - so of course Disney was probably "dumb" at that age. I'll work on him ... resistance is futile. He's already admitted to really liking world showcase - it's just a matter of time now!

I'll cross my fingers that you can make it down there to work on your wedding details - we found out when we booked that AirTran out of Bishop now has a fair number of non-stops to Orlando now, so hopefully that'll work in your favor!

Tell DF that it's his turn for a relaxing early AM drive where he can get a few extra minutes to wake up and sip on some coffee in the comfort of his own vehicle - you'd hate to keep that experience all to yourself!:lmao: really, you're just thinking of him... :D There are definitely some really cute areas in GB. I'm in an apt. complex at the moment, but I don't think I'd mind sticking around (just not at my current job!)

Thanks for the info about Bishop, I'll have to look into it.

As for DF driving, I wish that would work, but he has a big gass guzzler truck that gets 10mpg on a real good day and I have a little 40mpg car. Guess who has to drive because of that. Oh well, I don't mind it, I like the alone time! Maybe one day he'll get a better vehicle and we can move a little further away.

Well, I called Doreen today about the MK photo shoot and she said I could schedule that now and that she would send a request to them. After I got off the phone with her, I looked on here and saw in another thread the phone # to disney photography, so I went ahead and called myself. I couldn't wait and wanted to make sure I was getting the date I wanted and I wanted to do it NOW. The good news is that I got the 5th, the day after the wedding which is what I wanted, but it is at 5am. Kinda early, but its okay. Unfortunatly, I hung up the phone with them and realized that I never asked them when I needed to pay or even how much it would end up being total!! I always do that sort of thing. Oh well, I asked them to email the info, so I'll have to email them back and I'll ask them that way instead of calling again.

So thats the most thats happening right now!

It is definitely a small world... although I envy all of you. I live near Clio and drive to Lansing for work; the construction is killing my commute right now :upsidedow

I wanted to add a tip about AirTran out of Bishop. Depending on how many people are coming to your wedding from the Flint area or other places that AirTran flies out of it is worth setting up a group rate. They would get 10% off their flights and if 30 people out of your group fly with them you get one ticket free. That is what my DF and I are planning to do for our guests since they all live near where AirTran flies. You only need ten people to use AirTran to qualify as a group. http://www.eventfares.com/eventsavers.aspx

I don't really have much to update on here, but I figured I'd put in what has happened. I talked to Doreen and she told me all the details about the MK shoot that I didn't ask before. I also found out within the last few days that you can add another park onto that for $300, so I'm thinkin I definetly want to do that, I just have to contact DFTW about it.

I added another day onto our reservation, so that means we will be in Disney from march 3rd until the 12th:yay: woohoo!

I also decided to just stick to the fairytale/mickey theme for the wedding that I already planned on. The bridal shower is going to be an ariel theme instead.

I still have gotten a call from a coordinator, boo, but that should be comming soon I think. I ordered two necklace and earring sets off ebay and some earrings that I just couldn't pass up. I liked them better then what came in the sets.

This is the one that I got already, and it is much prettier in person.

Then there is this one that I'm waiting on, that I think I will likely be using

These are the earrings that I ordered and really like, but I'm not sure if I'll use these ones or the ones with the necklace above, I'm waiting to see them in person.

More to follow...

I also found this pic of a centerpiece, and I am going to see if CG would put something like this on our table. (I don't know if they do things like that)

I also decided to do the flower toss rather than bubbles when we walk back down the 'isle' and I really like the idea of doing something like this..

I can't remember which DIS bride I got these pics from, but thank you!

Thats about it for now... I just have to convince DF that its worth it to do the second park photo session with the MK one on top of the honeymoon one that we get for using Randy.:scared: (he's a penny pincher, I usually am too, but can't help but spend when it comes to our wedding)

Congratulations from another Michigander over on the west side of the state!

Everything looks wonderful...love seeing the pictures...and your ring is my favorite so far!

Aaawww thanks so much! DF reluctantyl (sp) picked it out all by himself and I love it! The fact that he picked it out makes it even more special to me.

It just occured to me that I never posted my garter!

I also have my belly button pierced and found this..

I still have to download my shoes pic and post it, I will eventually!

I FINALLY got my shoe pictures up! Here is a pic of them..

I also have a pair of silver flip flops, but those are pretty basic, everybody knows what flip flops look like, just in case.

I made these flowers the other day thanks to some of the other ladies on here, but i'm not yet sure how I'll use them to be honest.

All your stuff looks great! I see you are having a dilemma with the hair and just thought I would share this picture I came across. It is an updo, but still gives you the length. I just thought it was something a little different and thought it might solve your dilemma.
