Hip Problems

So. I'm 16 and my hips stick. Meaning they don't rotate or move properly in their socket because my muscles are so tense.

This means almost daily deep-tissue massages (while they feel good when you're muscles aren't pulling your bones out of place, they hurt like a firetruck when they are) with Andy. The slightly sadistic athletic trainer. He's an awesome guy, to be sure. I love him almost like a brother (actually, brother is a good word for it), but let him know a weakness and he runs with it. He found out that I'm partial to warmer climates today...well, he made sure to use BioFreeze along with the regular gel. The only problem with that? BioFreeze is menthol based meaning the second that it comes in contact with the air it makes your skin soooooooo cold.

So. Anybody else ever had this happen? Any other sports-related injuries/ailments to share? I've got more coming out the wazoo, but I'll digress for now.

Ay Patti that must hurt!
I hope you find a better solution and/or what's causing the problems.

Would a knee replacement count as an ailment?
It's not sports induced but it takes the place of a tumor that could've been sports induced.
Well,I'll most likely never be able to walk the way I did before, but hey,I've got my leg.

I fell a lot when I was younger (and playing my different variety of sports) and would always bust my knee open in the same place. I cannot even count the times I fell in the exact same spot and got gravel/dirt/other things in it.

So ever since then my knee feels like theres pressure on it whenever I walk for too long. It only lasts a little bit and then when I sit down it tingles for a while. It's not bothersome enough for me to mention it to anyways, it's just really odd and a little annoying because I'm comstantly trying to move it to get the feeling out.

I'm getting shoulder surgery in April.
Basically, my shoulder socket is 5 times too big, so every time i move it, it pops out like mini dislocations.
so they are going in, and sewing and weighting down everything.
its for the best.
I swam a hard season like that, and had to quit this year.

That happens with my shoulders. I just get it to stop by rubbing them (as much as it hurts) and putting some icy-hot patches on them.

A knee replacement would definately be an ailment! Or the knee pain would've been before the replacement, but w/e. Knees seem to be the big thing that gets hurt around here. Shareen was out almost all of last season for a surgery on her knee and Megan missed the last few weeks for ACL surgery.

I'm just happy that I've never needed to go get a procedure done!

A rather embarrassing one is I sprained my ankle while playing Piggy in the Middle  :o

I also fractured 2 fingers (or maybe it was 2 fractures on one finger) playing some ball game we made up because we were bored. Went to these tennis courts and we just chucked the ball to each other. Whenever we caught the ball we couldn't move though. I went to catch the ball but it hit my finger(s?) instead. I missed 2 weeks of school, not because of the fracture, but because we had study leave and during that study leave, we had exams plus I fractured a finger on my writing hand making it painful to write...
