Hip Hip Hooray for Christmas Vacation... Disney Style!!! A Dec 2010 PTR

We're going Nov. 30 - Dec. 7th and we're staying at Coronado Springs. We're going to T-Rex on 12/2!

You're going to love it!!! The atmosphere is so COOL!!! Coronado is actually my favorite resort to date!!! I think that may change after staying at AKL though! We'll see!

Hey everyone, I know I been a bit of a slacker with the August TR, but work for me these days has taken over my life.... LITERALLY!!! I swear I am only in my house to sleep anymore!!! But hey it's paying for our Disney trip!!!

Ok, enough babbling, have a few minutes before I have to get ready for Devon's football game, so I figured I do a quick update. Hope ya'll enjoy!

So last I left offer we were about to have dinner with the dinosaurs....

When we walked up to the podium, I started to get really nervous as there were a LOT of people sitting and standing around to get in, all I thought was man we are going to be waiting FOREVER!!! But, to my surprise, I gave them my name and they said right this way!!! YAY!!! We waited maybe for 10 minutes tops to be seated!!

It was so cool... the ice cave changed colors!

Our waitress was very nice and quick, we placed or drink orders and food orders together and the wait for each was minimal... They were really moving people in and out for a Saturday night!

What a chore that was packing to come home on a plane! LOL!!!


It's not the best shot, but, every 20 minutes or so, there is a meteor shower, this is the best I got pic wise, but it is really neat to see in person.

While we waited for our food, Devon asked if we could go look around the rest of the place, so of course I said yes, as it was an opportunity to take more pics!!!

Sorry it is half eaten, apparently my brother could not wait to dig in!

Overall impression of T-Rex.... Will definitely be going back again!!! Matter to fact we are!!! I was posting pic of the place on facebook while we were there and my friend Jenn who is coming with us in December texted me and said I want to eat there in December, so as soon as I got home from this trip I called and booked ressies for the day we arrive, 12/3, which just happens to be my birthday!!!

Back to the report... With our bellies now food we continued our adventures through DTD!!!

For some reason Characters in Flight was grounded all evening?

What a cool store this was!!! Devon went back and forth for about 20 minutes trying to decide if he wanted to make a car our not... At the end of the day, he opted not too, as he said he'd probably never play with it at home. Smart kid!

Back story on pics of the mini coup... Tim has wanted a mini coup for years and years and still says it will be the first car he buys... Anyway, if you look real close the car is actually called "Fireball Tim" So, we just had to get pics with the car! LOL!!!

Of course we had to go to the Lego Store...

Tim ran into a girl he goes to school with so he chatted with her and her family while we explored the store... Again Devon had about 10 things he wanted to buy but just couldn't decide if he wanted to spend his money or not. It is truly amazing how much kids ponder over buying something when it is their own money they are spending!!!


After being in the mad house that is the DTD Lego store, we met back up with Tim and headed to where else... The World of Disney Store!!!

Oh the wall of Dooney's... I seriously had to show some major restraint here and NOT buy another one!!!

Up next we headed over to the pin store, where Devon shopped around and ended up buying a Rex and Mr. Potato Head pin...

And of course we had to stop by, Goofy's Candy Co.

I think I go into sugar shock every time I enter this store!!! Ummmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our last store before heading back to the resort for the night was

It is a tradition of mine to get Devon an ornament from Disney on every trip we go on... I usually have it personalized, but being we were leaving on Monday, it wouldn't be ready in time, that's ok, I'll just get another one in December! I just love decorating the tree and reliving on the memories of past trips when I see all the ornaments we have collected over the years!!! Yes, Yes, I know, I'm a sentimental wierdo!


And there you have it folks... Our night at DTD!!!

Summing up the evening.... It was a great relaxing night! Dinner was great, the weather was perfect for strolling in and out of the shops and even Tim said he had a fun night, even though he wasn't his usually self from the sun burn!

HA HA!!! I was the same pic, have no idea what happen there... But yep, its all fixed!!!

T-Rex is awesome, but I agree younger kids could get a little scared... Devon was scared to death when we we took him to Rain Forest cafe when he was younger!!! His dad seriously had to take him into the bathroom every time they had the storm and the animals started moving and making noises!!! We so laugh about it now!

T-Rex looks great. We're really looking forward to eating there in December! Excited to see your review of Harry Potter.

Thanks girl! And yes younger kids would definitely freak a bit, but I think Rain Forest Cafe is scarier for younger kids honestly.

We have 7:00 reservations for T-Rex on 12/2! Maybe we will run into each other!

Aw, our reservation isn't until 8:45 because we're gonna try to catch Fantasmic! before hand. But maybe I'll see you around DTD later. I stopped at Home Depot to get my lime green Mickey heads yesterday so everyone can tell I'm a Diser lol.

I'm really excited to try Coronado because it's the only moderate we've never stayed at. But, I think you're right about changing your mind after staying at AKL, we stayed there in '03 and it's still my favorite! The resort is just so awesome!

I'm even more excited to eat at T-Rex now after reading your update! And I can't wait to hear your review of HP. We went 6 days after it opened and it was chaos. Pure Chaos. Anxious to see if it was better a couple months later.

Trex looked awesome. I am definitely planning to go there our next family trip. The boys would love it.

Every year I get a disney ornament with the year on. Whether or not we go to disney. As we put them on the tree my husband and I share a memory from that year. Even if its from before we knew each other. So you are not the only sentimental wierdo.

All I was hearing was horror stories on the crowds before we left and I was totally freaking out, b/c going there was the main reason for the trip... I took some advice from a fellow Dis'er and well... You will see how it turned out soon!

OMG!!! Thanksgiving can not come soon enough... Here's the thing, I am so busy at work that I seriously feel like the days are just flying by!!! My fear is once it slows down in the beginning of November, I am afraid the days are going to DRAG... But then again, busy on not, the last few weeks leading to vacation always seem to drag in my eyes!
