Hints for preventing blisters

Awesome! Thank you very much!

I think the article may have left out the best idea. Wear two pair of socks. If you use a very thin wicking liner sock, it will stick to your skin. Your regular sock will stick to your shoe. All of the slipping and sliding is sock to sock, not sock to skin. The result is no blisters.

Interesting article! Good tips. (But I did think it was strange that they recommended using a thick coat of Vaseline on your feet on one page, then emphasized keeping your feet dry a couple of pages later!)

yeah I'm not too sure I want to lubricate my feet. :rotfl2:

my mom has trouble with getting blisters because she has had several ankle surgeries so she is taking Crocs and a pair of supportive gym shoes that don't have backs on them.

Actually the article did mention this on page 3.

I always have horrible problems with my feet. So keep my feet from aching after all that walking I do the following:
1. I start walking in the evenings around our house about 3 months before
our trip
2. I wear crocs because for my feet they are the BEST!!!
As far as blisters go I highly recommend body glide. If you don't want to buy Body Glide you can use a roll on deoderent. I ran out of Body glide on our last trip so I used deoderent. I even think the deoderent might have worked better. LOL

I never heard of body glide. Maybe we will try the deoderant. Did you just put it on the parts of the foot prone to blistering?

I use to get blisters every trip to WDW. I don't any more since I read on these boards to spay your feet with Deoderant. I thought it sounded funny but tried it and it works great. No blisters.:thumbsup2

Band-aid brand has a small roll-on anti-blister for feet (small enough to fit in a pocket or purse you're taking to park.) It's like body-glide for feet. We found it at Walgreens in the band-aid/first aid department. It worked really well, especially across the tops & side of your toes (doesn't feel wet when you put it on.)

I swear by the blister/bandaid thing! I've used them the last 2 trips and no blisters! I also spend half an arm on a good pair of cross training shoes as well as start walking a couple of months prior to the trip. I'm usually up to 10-12 miles per week the week before we leave.

I buy it at Sports AUthority but I believe REI has it also. Last year I ran out of Bodyglide and used roll on deoderent. It worked. LOL
