I will be visiting DL during Xmas using Hilton Hhonors points. The Hilton and Embassy Suites require the same number of points. Which would you choose? Is DL really walkable from the Hilton? I understand that the shuttle can be quite full. On the other hand, the Embassy Suites has a much nicer shuttle and free breakfast.

<font color=navy>The Hilton is within walking distance, but I would say it's a good 10 minutes, and maybe after a full day at the parks you don't want to walk that far, especially if it's cold, and/or wet.

I've heard that the Embassy Suites are really nice, and that the grounds are pretty. The Hilton is also said to have nice grounds, but I think the Embassy is nicer.

However, the Embassy Suites are further away from the DLR.

I think it depends on whether you're planning on spending more time at the parks or quality time at the hotel. If the Embassy has it's own shuttle, and you time yourselves right, you might enjoy a stay there more.

The Hilton is a very nice hotel, but you will just have a standard room vs a suie at the Embassy. The Embassy is further away but it is not that far. It is just further down Harbor-it is near the Hyatt, Marriott Suites & Crowne Plaza. There is also an Outback, Red Robbin & Joe's Crab Shack. The Hilton is within walking distance, but it is a bit of a walk. You walk to the Timon & Pumba parking lot and then take the tram in. We like the option of walking, but have actually been driving more lately, as we've been staying at the Hyatt and the drive is short. All hotels do offer shuttles, of course. They are usually most crowded at the end of the night! The Embassy also has an indoor pool, which may be nice during that time of year. The Hilton has a very nice pool/spa area but it is all outdoors. I hope you have a great trip!

Thanks for all the comments. I booked our room at the Embassy Suites this morning.

You won't regret it! Embassy Suites, the Garden Grove one is wonderful. if it is the shuttle is quick and efficient and is a full sized tour bus. You don't miss walking at all but if for some reason you need a cab(DTD late night etc)it was only $7.00 for me inc. tip. The breakfast is very good and most definitely filling! Good choices and nice to have a full hot breakfast. There is a managers reception each night with a light snack. We took advantage of this and ending up eating a delish! meal at the restaurant there(crab sandwich was soooooo good and the kids loved their kids meals.) The lobby is so pretty and it's so nice to have all that extra room(seperate living room/bedroom etc. The pool is decent sized with a hot tub and outside showers to rinse off in. There is also an arcade and weight room. The staff here was absolutely wonderful too!

Have a great trip
