Hilton Head?

We are thinking of stopping here for a few nights down on our way to WDW. When I look for a Marriott room, they give me Savannah, GA. How close are the two? If we just wanted to spend the day at the beach, could we stay in Savannah? How far off of I-95 is Hilton Head?

Depending on traffic, Savannah is about 45-min drive to Hilton Head Island. There are some nice hotels on Hilton Head, including a Disney resort.

Very familiar with the area. Been to Hilton Head many times and stayed Marriott. There are several Marriott options (we stayed often at Surfwatch time share but they rent by the night) along with others.

I want to say it is about 15-20 minutes to get to HHI from I-95 but an easy direct in drive. If you want to go to Hilton Head beach ............. no way I'd stay in Savannah. That is going to be WAY out of your way.

I stayed at a Marriott at HH that was very close to DVC beach house. If memory serves me correctly it was one or two resorts away. Wonderful Marriott and pool area.

FYI - Marriott's that are located directly on the beach - Hilton Head Marriott Resort and Spa, Marriott's Grande Ocean (2 bedroom/2 bath), Marriott's Surfwatch (2 bed/2 bath), Marriott's Barony Beach (2 bed/2bath) and Marriott's Monarch. All of the other Marriott's require transportation to get to the beach.
