Hilton Head - The Week Went By Too Quickly

Leaving this a.m. Brought along extended family this year and had a wonderful trip. We think this our 9th year! Enjoyed beautiful weather, all of the great castmembers, and meeting up with DVCers that come the same week as we do every year.

Tried some new restaurants this year and went back to our cannot miss places, too.

New: Roastfish and Cornbread...yum...the secret is out

Oldies but Goodies: (we always take advantage of early birds, especially with 8 people on this trip)

The Tuesday night party was great...missed the fireworks, but their absence did not dappen the party atmosphere.

They are starting a new Thursday night party at the Beach House that we checked out and really enjoyed. So if you are coming this summer you might want to give it a try.

LOTS of activities....one favorite was tie dye t shirts. Many new ones and make sure you don't miss the ones with Blu' Crabbe.

Already looking forward to next year's trip.

Hello fellow Illinoisan. We also love our HH trips. Do you drive or fly. We usually drive and stop at Ashville on the way down and the way back. I am getting tired of the drive and am considering flying, what is your experience? Go Blackhawks!!!!!!

That last day... the "sad" day... always comes too quick. Well, at least for us.. our trips are almost always 5 day stays.

Can you tell me more about the new Thurs night party? We were there last summer and went to the Low Country Shrimp Boil at the Beach House on Thursday night. I really wouldn't want to see them change that. I thought the whole evening was perfect just the way it was.

We were dying to try Roast fish and cornbread, but schedule did not allow..is the wait crazy like sea shack at dinner? We miss HHI already! Just waiting for 11 month date for next summer! Now they need to get Dunkin Donuts on the island! CM at front desk said there are 3 "planned", but nothing yet. Just have to remember one trip to Beaufort for coffee if this doesn'e realize! Sorry we missed the beach party, will try it if we are there on thursday next time. Also missed the frieworks, but I guess they start June 22 this year.

Sorry, but its just not Dunkin Donuts..I am not interested in the donuts, just the coffee..I am an admitted coffee snob. DD or Starbucks(lattes only here) are my preferences..thats a real problem each trip to wdw for me...nescafe sucks!

1. We have always flown...into Orlando and Jacksonville....usually spent weekend at WDW, did Disney cruise and St. Augustine...on different visits. Going to try to fly into Charleston next year.

2. Menus and prices (not for Roastfish or Harolds) can be found at www.hhidining.com. Early birds usually are $12.95 to $15.95.

3. Sorry, didn't save menu from Thursday night....it looked different from Tuesday night's party and looked good. They played pool games, etc. It was new last week so they are still "playing" with it.

4. Roastfish and Cornbread...we got there at 5:15 got one of the last two tables. They do have a lovely outdoor shaded outdoor deck with tables. Three members of our group ordered the yummy brisket and after that it ran out. The rest of us had wonderful fish/seafood dishes. On our way out friends of ours were waiting...they had been told it was a 45 min wait, but told me later that they only waited 20-25 min. Make sure you check out the specials board as you come in.
