Hilton Head Resort - Studio questions

The HH resort has only 21 studios.

The Main Lodge (Buildings 11/12) has 16 studios. Views are Marsh View and Island View - although the island view studios will also have at least a glimpse of the marsh and some can even see the summer fireworks.

The other 5 studios are located under a GV in Buildings 16,18,19, 28 and 30.

Building 18 has a marsh view and 16, 19, 28 and 30 have island views.

Thanks Doc! That's exactly the info I was looking for! :thumbsup2

Does anyone have pictures of their studio views? Would love to see some! :goodvibes

I do, I do! And I think it's the view from the very best studio, #1134-

We'd reserved a 1 BR, but due to a MS screw-up and a sold-out resort (long story) we were in this studio for one night. When they told us the nexy day that they had found us a 1 BR, we had mixed feelings.

Beautiful Simba's Mom!!!

Was that in the lodge? Top floor? Would this be considered a 'marsh view'?

Oh, I SOOO want this one! The only request I have made is top floor, just because I am very noise sensitive and I don't want to be under a GV. I figured if I was on the top floor, I would have a marsh view. Are the island views looking out at the marina?

Yes, that is a Marsh View from Building 11 (Live Oak Lodge) - the floors directly above the Front Desk. I think that one is on the 3rd floor and there is a similar view from the studio(s) on the 4th floor.

Well, I thought this was the third floor, but there's no floor above it. So it's three stories above the lobby, four stories from ground. However it's called, it is the top floor.

There is no 4th floor in Live Oak Lodge.

Good to know! Thanks! :thumbsup2

LOL - thanks for the correction! I was thinking the Front Desk was noted as on the 2nd floor and the garage as the 1st floor. Sorry for the confusion! :(

There are three floors in Building 11 - #1134 is on the top floor. On that side of the building I think there are 2 lock-offs on the 3rd floor, 3 on the 2nd floor and one on the first floor (next to the Front Desk area) all with Marsh View looking across the inlet towards Newport (the buildings in Simba's Mom's photos) and the mall is behind and to the right of Newport. The same configuration is found on the other side of Building 11 (with one next to Big Murgie's Den). That side is all "island view", but you can still see some of the marsh thru the trees. you can see the summer fireworks from the balconies on the "island view side", but not from the Marsh View side. The fireworks barge is usually anchored behind the Disney pier in the marsh for the Tuesday night show.

Building #12 is made up of 2 buildings - I think the section nearer the front desk has two lock-offs on each of the two floors and one on each floor in the further section of #12. Building 12 has only 2 floors of villas in each section. The one bank of elevators serves both of these buildings and parking garage is at the ground level of Building 11 and the closer section of Building 12.

Thanks for that thorough description. I'll be bookmarking this thread for future reference! :thumbsup2 Thanks again Doc! :goodvibes

Here is another thread with some information about the HH resort.

BTW - in the photos above posted by Simba's Mom you can see the Old Oyster Factory restaurant. It is on the far shore of Broad Creek (the marsh) , just to the left of the Newport villa - especially in the second photo. It has a red roof and offers great sunset views at dinnertime.

Webmaster Doc, can you tell me for sure if this is a picture of Old Oyster Factory? I took it from the back deck of Live Oak Lodge, but wasn't too sure what it was-

Yep - that's it! What a great shot of the restaurant - just a much closer view of the ones in the earlier photos. The windows on the left side of your photo offer a wonderful sunset view. Alexanders (near the HH resort) and Redfish (on Palmetto Bay Road - about 3 miles from the resort) are owned by the same group.

Good picture (great telephoto shot) ! :)
