Hilton Head, our first visit

Booked a one bedroom for next weekend for our very first visit. Just for me and hubby. I think I would like to be close to the pool area somewhat and on the lowest floor available. Any advice?

All but a few of the buildings away from Live Oak Lodge are 2BR no lock offs. There are a few that are lock offs-- I don't remember the numbers and buildings.

90% of the time we don't book a 2BR we are in the lodge or the building that connects to it. The lodge is the farthest from the pool but closest the shuttle stop for the beach house.

The lowest floor available is technically the second floor. You'll have to go up stairs in the outer buildings. The only elevators are in the main building.

I'm confused. I booked a one bedroom. Am I missing something here?

The 1 BRs are part of a 2 BR lock off. In the 2 BR lock offs, 1 side is a 1 BR and at the end of the hall by the washer/dryer the door locks from both side-- just like an adjoining hotel room- and the other side is a studio.

There are 21 2br lock-offs, which can all be used as a 1br and a studio. 16 of those are in Live Oak Lodge and the adjoining building (buildings 11 and 12 if I recall). The other 5 are scattered around the resort, and all 5 are below a Grand Villa.

I was there 2 weeks ago, and 6 buildings were all down for maintenance. I don't know what all they were doing, but I did notice some exterior painting and roofing going on.

Ok, so I switched over to a studio for $130 less, which was what I was wanting to begin with and I am very tickled that I was able to get that.
