Is there a long time thread dedicated to Hilton Head? I found the Vero thread to be a great start for information and didn't see anything similar for Hilton Head. Do the two resorts compare? I would be interested in seeing the weekly activities, etc for Hilton Head and learning about the best/worst times of year to visit. TIA!

There is a HHI lover's thread. I don't know how to link you to it, but as of now, the last post was 7:30 this morning. There's also a pretty active Facebook page for resort fans. I don't know how the 2 resorts compare-we haven't been to Vero, but I'm pretty sure that Vero's right on the ocean, but HHI resort isn't.

We have been to both, Vero, 3 times and HH one time, 3rd week of May, before summer season gets in full swing. Have been to Vero once in mid August, and twice checking in a few days before Memorial Day Weekend, leaving Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. I love both resorts, but I favor HH because of the abundance of great restaurants in very close proximity. We love to bike ride and have rode bikes at both resorts and prefer HH, especially biking to the beach house. We have heard that the summer months in HH get extremely crowded and getting into restaurants is very difficult. Vero is not that crowded in the summer, in fact, Memorial Day weekend is crowded at Vero, but not crazy crowded that I wouldn't return. Even with Memorial Day, was easy getting into restaurants at Vero, but you must drive greater distances to restaurants in Vero. Can't go wrong at either resort in my opinion. We usually try to do Vero after a few days at the parks as a good way to relax. Last May, we skipped the parks all together, and instead spent a few days in Fort Lauderdale then drove to Vero. Really enjoyed Fort Lauderdale, end of May last year was fabulous weather in both Lauderdale and Vero. Much preferred weather end of May in Vero versus mid August as August was very hot and humid. ENJOY!::yes::

Thanks jerseygal! We have to been to Vero twice in October and I was thinking about Spring Break 2019 at Hilton Head. Do the activities for the kids compare at the two resorts? Our two trips to Vero-campfire and the Unbirthday Party were on the same days every week so I was looking for information on things like that at Hilton Head to help me select dates/days of the week. The boys in the family are also into fishing but I cant find much on HHI at all--and I thought info on Vero was hard to come by!!

I am sorry that I can't comment about kids activities as our youngest DS will be graduating college, oldest will be turning 31 and no grandchildren yet(can't wait for the "right time" in the future though!):cheer2:. Hilton Head is extremely "family friendly", we did jet skis which was a blast, but I am sure that there must be an age minimum on jet skis. I love walking to the restaurants(such a short distance from resort) ice cream shop, and all of the yachts that are parked right across from Disney Hilton Head. Really beautiful setting! LOVE both resorts!:beach:
