We are thinking of planning a short trip to HH in June '07, but have to wait until 7 month window since it is not our home resort. Has anyone had any problems getting June reservations at the 7 month window in years past?

Anything in particular we should plan to see or do?

How is the dining & shopping?

I've heard you need to take a bus to the beach, how is that?

Your best luck is going to be trying to get a 2 bedroom villa as there are more of them than studios and 1 bedrooms. Our first trip was a July trip, booked at the 7 month window. Definately plan on calling day by day to complete your reservation. I think that's is your best option.

The bus ride to and from the beach is not bad. We have not done it as a family, just as single riders. Usually my DH will ride bikes with the kids to the beach -- something my DS6 has done now for 2 years without any problem. It's a nice easy smooth ride there and back. I will drive with all our gear. If I can't find a parking spot (which happens when it's hot and later in the morning) I drop our stuff off with DH & the kids, drive back, hop on the shuttle bus and meet them at the beach. It's really not that difficult and the shuttle runs continuiously to the beach house and back all day long. Wait is probably about 15 minutes or so.

We tend to do more cooking in our villa as we find it's easier than going back, showering and getting dressed to go out for dinner. Our kids would much prefer to swim all day long like dolphins and only eat when famished. We've grilled on the BBQ grills around the resort. And, ordered pizza delivered to the pool. Ironic because at home, we tend to eat out more than cook.

It's definately a kick back and relax atmosphere -- much different from a trip to Walt Disney World. We actually find time to relax and have fun. It's a great family vacation and one we look forward to every year.

Good luck making your reservation!

We are BWV owners and were able to trade reservations with a HHI owner on the rent/trade board so we could get reservations at the 11 month window. That way we didn't have to worry about not getting the reservation. Depending on what you own, that may be an option.

We will probably book day to day since we will be using our remaining points to only stay for a few days, so that we can be at HH for my son's 4th birthday.
