Headed back to DHHIR in a few weeks after a 5 or 6 year hiatus and am wondering what are the best places to eat on the island now. Several of the places we have frequented in the past are no longer open so we'd love some recent reviews.

I went to HHI last year and am going back this August. These are the places we went last year and enjoyed. All of them are available to book via Open Table:

Jane Bistro and Bar - super close to the resort. I love the Shrimp and Grits here!
Nectar Farm Kitchen - my favorite meal of the trip. Super delicious and great service
Lucky Rooster - food is wonderful though service is hit or miss. One time I went the service was amazing but the most recent visit it was super slow
Alfred's - pricey but worth it. Getting a reservation on Open Table can be difficult last minute.
Scott's Fish Market - always enjoy eating here on arrival day. I don't believe they're on Open Table but totally walkable from the resort.
Okko Japanese Sushi & Hibachi - have never done the hibachi but the sushi here rules! Totally underrated as each time I've eaten here it's been pretty quiet.

LOVE Alfred's. So good and cute cozy little place.

We haven't been in 3 years but if you want cheaper pizza or pasta type meal, we love Guiseppes. Think they do Disney discount like Scott's Fish market which we like sometimes. Heard great things about Jane Bistro but haven't been there yet. We always have a meal at Poseidon. They have good sushi. Most of the shelter cove places do a disney resort discount.

We like to stop at Crazy Crab on ur way in on arrival day. Love the views and a good broil meal. Over that way is also Skull Creek Dockside and we try to do a lunch there as it gets crazy busy for dinner. Great views and okay food.

Down the island by Coligny, we like Charbar for a great burger and also great sushi. And there is a place called Kenny B's that the hubby loves for great New Orleans food. Also went to It's Greek to Me and that is very good. We also always always hit up Frosty Frog for some frozen drinks and food that isn't bad considering it's a frozen drinks bar. And they have TVs to watch any games the hubby needs to see. And Skillets is a good breakfast. Been there and the HH Diner and Skilkets is better. There is a little fresh seafood place called Seashack that is the bomb. You buy at counter and get food in to-go tray. There are a few tables inside and out but it's like a carry out place. And excellent real fresh seafood of all kinds. A lot of fried stuff but think broiled as well.

But it's been 3 years so....who knows. There is much more we've done and like everything to some degree. Look for early bird deals or happy hours.

I second Crazy Crab, Sea Shack, and Kenny B's. We also like Low Country Back Yard.

Highly recommend the SERG restaurants.

They also give a 10% discount to people staying at DHHIR with room key to show.

A recent place, also SERG, is Nectar, by the entrance to Sea Pines (but outside the entrance). Good for breakfast/lunch, never been for dinner. Also, Poseidon, in Shelter Cove Town Center, is good.

We were just in Hilton Head in April. We enjoyed meals at Old Oyster Factory and Ela's on the Water.

We have also enjoyed Skull Creek Dockside and Skull Creek Boathouse in the past but did not go this past trip.

All of these restaurants have outdoor tables.

Over the last few trips to DHHIR we have eaten at and recommend Amigo's, Bad Biscuit, Crazy Crab, Fishcamp on Broad Creek, Flora's, Hilton Head Social Bakery, Jane's Bistro, Michael Anthony's, Nectar, Old Oyster Factory, OMBRA, Skillets, Stack's, and Wayback Burger.
