Leaving for Disney's HHI resort this morning. I hope to see some of you there. I will write trip report when we return on Sunday.

Have a great time. I look forward to hearing about what the resort is like at this time of year.

Cold and gloomy. Unswimmable ocean, pretty deserted.

Actually, the resort is bright and cheery with lots of activities in the recreation program for all ages. The ocean is certainly swimmable, although it may be too cool for most to enjoy, but the resort pools are heated year round.

HH itself has lots of things to do- year round - like golf, tennis, museums, art galleries, shopping (lots of boutoiques and outlets to choose from) as well as over 300 restaurants. If you are still looking for more to do, Savannah and Charleston are nearby with lots of history and charming southern architecture to immerse yourself in.

Have a wonderful time! We were supposed to go to HH today, too, but work and kids kind of made us change our plans. :sad2: (Kids are 17 and 20 and wanted to be spend NYE with their friends this year -- we didn't think it would be a good idea to head out of town and leave them behind. ;) )

We have spent NYE there for the past three years and have loved it. In the past, there have been kids parties for all ages, but no adult planned activities. We just had a nice dinner and champagne at midnight in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings. I heard that this year, instead of kids only parties, they might have a family party for all ages. If they do that, I'd really love to hear how it goes!

In any case, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!!!

HH may be cold, but it's NEVER gloomy, IMHO. We've been there when the weather was cold, rainy, windy, really rotten weather all week but it was still so much fun! Don't forget that trip report. Since it will be several months before DH and I can go, we'll be anxiously awaiting "news".

We are new owners of the DVC- at SS. We are planning on visiting HH this summer. Maybe SS in Nov. Please tell us all about either. My DH and my kids- DD-9 and DS- 11 are excited about going. Very curious about the DVC and how it works. I hope it is worth it! Any pointers or advice? :cheer2:
