Seems rates are not out yet for August 2012 (I even called to confirm that), but I wonder if I might even get a better rate from an owner. I tried to search VRBO.com and they have a horrible search function so I didn't find anything. There was only one listing on redweek.com and that was for a 1BR and we need a 2BR.

Anyone have experience renting from an owner or know of other sites to check out.

I've rented from owners before without issue. My last transaction was found on eBay. Owners can only book August if it is their resort (you can book a year in advance). If you find a HGVC owner of another resort they can only book 9 months out. the gentleman I'm working with owns seaworld but i waited with him so he could get me Parc soleil.
