Hi  ,

Although we have stayed here many times before we have never had the time to make use of the swimming pool at the hotel. However, we have booked it for our next holiday to St. Lucia and the flight isn't until later on in the day :) , so we should have a bit of free time - my question is are children allowed in the pool? (if they are, what's the time when they have to be out by)

Just so we know whether or not to put swimming costumes in our overnight bag!

Also, about what time at night do the shops in the south terminal close?

Thanks!

Richard. :)

Hi Richard, I work for a company that sells the gatwick hilton and I am 99% sure that it is only the evening that is restricted access to the swimming pool for kids, I dont think you will have any problem during the day!!

:D Hi Richard. We stayed at the Gatwick Hilton overnight back in February and used the pool between 7 - 8.30 in the evening. It's not enormous by any stretch of the imagination, but more than adequate for a family splash around (there were 6 of us and about another 20 people in it - I still managed to get some serious swimming in:D ).

I'd often wondered about the pool there during other stays. We weren't disappointed. I'd thought I'd never seen anyone wandering around there in their cossies, but you just go down to the fitness suite where the pool is and get towel from reception then into changing rooms. Don't even worry about toiletries for scrubbing afterwards . . . it's all there in the showers. And there's even a hot tub for soaking:)

Must admit we're changing our usual pattern when we go to St Lucia as when we go to Florida we always stay at the Hilton, but since the flight doesn't go until 2pm, we're treating ourselves to a taxi from home, but then we're nearer than you are now;)

Enjoy the pool:D

Some of the shops have different closing times but I think that most of them close between 9-10p.m. We enjoy staying at Gatwick Hilton, what with Twilight Check-in and going onto the airport to eat and do some shopping it makes a great start to the holiday.

Thank-You very much everyone for your replies.

It's good to know that if the restuarants in The Hilton are a bit too expensive or full, then the shops and restaurants of the terminal should be open a little late.

Thanks Again!

Richard. :)
