We just returned from a 6 night stay at the Hilton Anaheim. The primary reason we stayed here was because we stayed on points. At the time of booking, we were offered an E-Standby upgrade to a Disney view for $15 a night that I took. We ended up with an amazing corner room on the 12th floor with a great view of the parks and fireworks.

Our room was very spacious. In addition to a good sized standard hotel room, it had a separate sitting room area. There is no refrigerator in the room, but we were given one at no charge for medical reasons (DD has severe food allergies). We were told that we could also have a microwave brought to our room, but we declined. I received an email prior to our stay that linked to a request form where you could request to have these items brought to your room for a one time fee. I think it was $17 per item for the length of stay.

The hotel was next door to the convention center. When we arrived on Sunday afternoon, it was very busy because the Natural Products Expo was just letting out. By Monday, the hotel was pretty quiet, but it starting getting busy for another convention on Wednesday.

The weather was a little cool for me and DH to go swimming, but the kids did. The actual pool is pretty basic, but it had a very nice play area. The actual pool was heated.

I have HHonors gold status, so we were given the choice of Starbucks vouchers or continental breakfast vouchers in the Mix Restaurant. We took the Starbucks vouchers which entitled us to any grande beverage and a pastry item. I had read online that the Starbucks line would be very busy and it was correct! I showed most mornings right as they opened at 6am to beat the big crowd. DH went down the last couple of mornings between 8am-9am and it took 20-30 minutes to get through the line, so beware!

The walk to the park entrance was about 15 minutes. We exited the hotel through the parking garage rather than the front entrance. I have to say that Harbor Blvd. drove me a bit nuts. It felt like I was on the Vegas strip. I'm surprised that they haven't built any overhead pedestrian walkways because it seems like it would be a lot safer. In the mornings, we walked directly to the parks, but at the end of the day, we did jump in the Toy Story parking lot bus. We don't think that using the shuttle bus really saved any time, but it did cut down the walk by a very long block. The shuttle buses were very efficient. There was always one there ready to be loaded and several empty buses ready behind it.

On two nights, we ordered food from restaurants at the GardenWalk. It was a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. This worked out very well on Friday night. I called in our order to California Pizza Kitchen which was ready in 15 minutes. As I walked up to the GardenWalk, people were saying that everything had an hour and a half wait.

Happy to see a good review of the Hilton:thumbsup2. We stay at the Hilton hotels a lot from coast to coast:moped:. We have always enjoyed our stays and enjoyed the rooms, facilities, and the mannerly professional staff that Hilton has to offer. Glad you had a nice enjoyable trip!:cool1:

That's our preferred place to stay. However, the rates vary a lot depending on whether or not there's a major convention going on.

It's also a huge hotel. I've heard it's the 3rd largest in California by number of rooms. We had one room close to the elevator but not too close. Another time it was quite a bit away. It does make some difference, especially if you've got a lot of stuff. Once I had too much stuff and just left it near the elevator and went back for it later. Everything was still there.

Great to hear! DH and I are staying here for the 24 hour event in May =) Thank you!

Thanks for the review. Staying there in July. :)

I just stayed here Thursday and Friday May 22 & 23. Here is my review from tripadvisor:

After driving down from the bay area, we arrived around 2pm and were hoping to be able to check in early. We were able to and that was fantastic! We were also offered a room upgrade for an additional $20 a night, but declined since we would be spending little time in our room. It was nice to be given the choice of an upgrade though. The nice man checking us in told us he would give us a room away from the elevators. He wasn't kidding! It was a trek to the room but our room was very quiet, so it was totally worth it! We had a view of the convention center and could see part of CA Adventure as well. We had a king room and it was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. We were able to easily find a nice big parking spot too. We went to Starbucks in the lobby several times and also tried out the food court, both of which were great. We also had drinks one night in the bar, and that was also fantastic. I don't think there was a convention going on, but we were told 900 people were checking in that Friday, but I could never notice the hotel being crowded and we never had to wait long for an elevator. The walk to Disneyland was a little long, especially on the way back. We figure next time we will take a shuttle or a cab because we would have our children with us. Another thing that would have been nice in the room was a fridge, but since it was just my husband and I, we dealt fine without one. Overall we would stay here again.

I first stayed there in '90. Great hotel and lovely decor, with large rooms.

We have stayed there a few times as well, and each time it's been just fine. It's not the on property, DLH or GC experience at all. It's more of a convention and business hotel, not a resort, Disney mania kind of place.

Both times we were upgraded to a gigantic room with a beautiful view of the parks. We are also Hilton Honors so got the breakfast options. We've stayed on points and also found nightly rate of $90! Even at that discounted rate, we were upgraded. I attended a conference there, which was great! It felt like a paid Disney vacation because the schedule was pretty loose.

The walk is kind of long, especially at the end of a long park day.

No complaints at all, it's a good property. If we are looking for a "cheap" rate or want to use points we stay there. We also booked the Annabella for a weekend a few years ago at $85/night. We had a really nice room there too.
Upcoming trip is back on property, which for us the BEST way to Disney!

Great to hear a positive review! We're staying there in September and I was a little concerned with the walk, but 15 minutes isn't bad at all (and thank you for the Toy Story tip!). I really wish we could stay at the Disneyland Hotel, but between the great rate at the Hilton and our HH Diamond status, my husband wasn't staying anywhere else!

We had to walk almost that far to get from our room at AOA to the bus stop last year at WDW, so a 15 minute walk to the actual park gate sounds pretty great to me!
