Hello everyone! I feel like I haven't been on DISboards in an eternity. I am now a married woman! YAY!! My at-home wedding was wonderful and our Disneymoon was even more magical!
I hardly know where to start!
Our wedding took place at home, in Dayton, Ohio on December 13, 2008. We live in a historic district, and wanted to get married at our neighborhood church, which was recently refurbished. The church was built in 1888, and features stunning jeweled stain glass windows. Our house was built in 1882.
Many of the details were inspired by our home and city. Our invitations featured a design carved into the porch of our house; the programs and welcome packets featured designs of the rosette windows of the church.
I wore a lace San Patrick gown, cathedral length veil, and hot pink shoes. Paul wore an Indochino suit, custom made pink tie, and Wright Flyer replica tie tack and matching cufflinks.
Our reception was held at our local Arboretum. The menu featured seasonal Christmas favorites like Virginia Ham, pecan chicken, many appetizers, seasonal squashes and vegetables, as well as pomegranate fizz cocktails and cranberry orange sangria. I also had a cake buffet, with Black Forrest, Strawberry swirl, chocolate peanut butter, spice with cinnamon butter cream, and white cake with raspberry and white truffle filling.
Tomorrow I will start my blow by blow account of the wedding and all its details. Then I will give the details of our incredible Disneymoon! Complete with dinner at Victoria and Albert's, dream passes, and a HUGE Disney surprise finish.
For now, enjoy the two previews on my photographer's blog.
