Just because one Dr.'s office or clinic offers services cheaper doesn't mean they all have to charge those prices. One dr's office could charge less for some services and more for other services. Usually, it evens out from one practice to another. DR. X may charge $50 for a visit, but Dr. Y only charges $40. Dr. Y might charge $10 per lab test, and Dr. X may only charge $7 per lab test. Different dr.'s offices charge different rates for different services. I don't know why.Christine said:I agree, and I didn't want my shot for "free" or "at cost" or even did I expect it to be as cheap as CVS or Costco. I expected the shot to cost $40--exactly what I pay when I take my kids to the pediatrician's office and get they same service--they also have an office, several receptionists, about 10 nurses, etc. Why the disparity?
Generally, pediatric health care services are less expensive than adult heath care services. Pediatricians are among the lowest paid physicians.
