I am looking for July 5th. I'd love to have July 3rd to see the 4th of July fireworks, but since they are not doing a dessert party on the 3rd or 4th, I wonder whether they will offer this on the 3rd and 4th. That is, if they offer it at all. It seems that it is getting late to put out the July dates since we are just 60 days away. Hopefully they extend this because it sees like a great experience (and since this is a rare solo trip without children, it may be my only opportunity to do it).
In case they do offer it, I booked my fastpasses today in the hopes that I can complete them in time to get over to the Contemporary. I keep having to book things in the hopes that something else will occur . . .
When are you looking for?
This is the same date we are looking for! Also on a kids free trip for my birthday/anniversary and would love to do this. My hopes are slowly dwindling though![]()
It looks like it's being offered Tues-Sat
Can anyone who has done it recently comment on the dessert cordials? Reading through the thread, it looks like they used to have a variety of cordials but now they only have Bailey's. The website still reads like they offer a variety of cordials at the dessert reception. Obviously, this isn't a dealbreaker for us but my wife and I both aren't big Bailey's fans.
Maybe we could create our own Dine Around? Start at The Wave with a cocktail, commandeer the monorail, appetizers at Trader Sam's, and end at Narcoossee's or California Grill for dessert and fireworks.![]()
Come on Disney! Don't you see the dates are sold out!! Extend this into September!
Do you know if August dates have been released?
Quick menu update from May 5. Pea soup and bay lake sunset cocktail at the Contemporary. "Classic" mai tai (no hippo glass) with beet salad, spicy tuna roll and pork belly in a sectioned off corner of the Poly lobby near the entrance. Cheese and charcuterie with bread and accompaniments in the GF tea room with sparkling wine. Halibut and short rib with red or white wine (one of us asked for both but the server just laughed and did not offer a half pour of each). Two desserts (one chocolate and one orange flavored) with three types of after dinner liqueurs.
We did have to go through security at each resort but it was pretty quick. Nice event - we all enjoyed it.

We went a week ago, and there were a few snafus with our experience. They were not prepared for some (my) allergies even though they were notified during the reservation process, via phone, at the podium at the Wave, etc. As a result, I had about 10 minutes to eat dinner and only ate approximately 1/3 of it. I mentioned it to one of the guides and she said it always good that they know this information. The guides never walked past the tables to check to see if everything was going OK. Apparently, there was also a problem with one of the tables being seated at Citricos, too, as someone at our table said they saw one of the other tables being led back to the lobby of the restaurant. The tables were far from each other so I didn't view this. I had a feeling, from overhearing one of the guides, that one was either new or inexperienced. Plus, we walked onto the balcony to view the fireworks just as Wishes was starting so no time to get desserts before the fireworks. You either had to miss part of Wishes to get your dessert or get it afterwards. I have no idea what liqueurs were there. We were not delayed by the security checks as they went very quick.
I asked about the new Poly area which is just to the right of the doors from the monorail as you are entering Poly. One of the guides said it is permanent, and she thought it was so nice. It felt like it was arranged for this location so that we could quickly move in and out. You are just standing at tables there. I was disappointed as Tiki Terrace is SO nice, but Wishes would have been completely over if we had had to walk from Tiki Terrace to the monorail. Just not good time management on our night.
Have they stopped giving out the small box of candy at the end? We did not get any. Possibly this is due to the heat, but I tend to think it was another thing that was dropped. I also did not view the guides bidding the guests farewell at the end. It looked like people were just leaving.
I think the concept of this event is great, but our night did not go well and we certainly did not get our money's worth. Probably just an off night, which should not happen. Probably would not do it again.
