Highs, Lows & Lobster Rolls: a brief holiday dining report. 1/10 More reviews added!

Nice report! I especially appreciate the lobster roll reviews cuz I'm really picky when it comes to those....;)

I love reading all your reviews! I'm visiting Artist Point in a few weeks and hope your dish is still on the menu! Yummy!
Thanks so much for reading! Even if Artist Point's menu has changed, I'm sure they'll have something equally tasty on the menu. :thumbsup2

Nice report! I especially appreciate the lobster roll reviews cuz I'm really picky when it comes to those....;)
I'm glad you enjoyed the lobster roll updates. :goodvibes Lobster rolls can be a beautiful thing, but not when you overload the lobster meat with so much mayo (which might speak raise questions about the quality and freshness of the lobster). :worried:

Great review and pics! Please go back and bring us more!
Thanks for the kind words! I'm hoping to go back soon, and I might have to share another review or two. ;) (Spice Road Table is calling my name!)

Oh goody! More reviews! :woohoo:

The Wave buffet looks VERY impressive. I never remember that place exists - Swan and Dolphin are kind of off my radar (despite the fact that I visited their bus stops and boat dock pretty much every day of our August trip ).

The Contempo Cafe seems like a pretty decent CS option. The salad looks quite tasty. As does the gingerbread shingle! [thumbsup]

Mini donuts! I have a feeling I know what my DD will want once we finally make it to the water parks. ;)

Okay, the WPE salmon looks shockingly good. I didn’t realize that was an option there. People rave about this place, but I have never tried it. I can totally see getting that salmon though!

I had that FFC beet salad too - best part of my dinner there! ;)

Hmm, maybe I’m just really in the mood for salmon? Because the GFC salmon is looking really good to me too. What a beautiful fruit dessert from the manager as well. Love those Disney special moments.

Sanaa is very high on my must-try WDW restaurants list. I’m so glad to see yet another good review of it.

Ahhh I missed part 3 earlier... shame on me!

Oh man! I'm trying FF next trip - for sure. Your review settles it. Plus I'll be traveling with Paula and her DH as well and they are fans so I think I'm pretty sold.

I'm a huge EoS fan! 95% of the time I get the caprese as well. I do love the cupcake coronets too. ;)

That was very nice of the manager at your GFC dinner to bring a special dessert. I loved the greeting. Such a different experience from our shared dinner in August for sure. I still like GFC so I look forward to returning.

Thanks for sharing the additional reviews. :)

great reviews, thanks so much for taking the time and wonderful pics, I'm hungry already and our trip is a month away:)

The Wave buffet looks VERY impressive. I never remember that place exists - Swan and Dolphin are kind of off my radar (despite the fact that I visited their bus stops and boat dock pretty much every day of our August trip ).

I highly recommend The Wave's buffet! The restaurant itself might not have much atmosphere, but the food choices are interesting and the buffet is a pretty good value (it was $19.99 for my meal before tax/tip, and I got a 10% AP discount). The Wave is actually located at the Contemporary on the first floor, so it's a perfect place to kick off a day at MK.

But I know what you mean about Swan and Dolphin - we stayed at Swan for the first part of our trip, and the restaurants there still felt out-of-the-way.
:lmao:

The Contempo Cafe seems like a pretty decent CS option. The salad looks quite tasty. As does the gingerbread shingle! [thumbsup]

Honestly, Contempo Cafe has much better options than the salad I ordered! I really like it there, and it's super convenient to the monorail station. Honestly, CR is just a convenient place to dine. :)

Mini donuts! I have a feeling I know what my DD will want once we finally make it to the water parks. ;)

Those donuts are definitely a nice snack choice! The water parks are super fun, but I've never actually eaten at them before. Now that MagicBands are becoming a thing, I'm hoping to actually try some water park quick service food next time! :thumbsup2

Okay, the WPE salmon looks shockingly good. I didn’t realize that was an option there. People rave about this place, but I have never tried it. I can totally see getting that salmon though!

The salmon at WPE is so good - if we were on the regular DDP, that would probably be my CS choice every single day! And yeah, people rave about almost everything there - it's one of the few places that makes the trek to DTD worthwhile.

I had that FFC beet salad too - best part of my dinner there! ;)

That beet salad was delicious, and I'm not even a huge fan of goat cheese! Sorry the rest of your meal didn't live up to it - admittedly, our experiences at Flying Fish have been inconsistent. We're still surprised this meal went as well as it did.

Hmm, maybe I’m just really in the mood for salmon? Because the GFC salmon is looking really good to me too. What a beautiful fruit dessert from the manager as well. Love those Disney special moments.

Completely understandable - salmon is a wonderful protein! :thumbsup2 And that fruit dessert was such a wonderful surprise - I'm just glad she didn't bring us more desserts, since we probably would have eaten them. ;)

Sanaa is very high on my must-try WDW restaurants list. I’m so glad to see yet another good review of it.
Sanaa is definitely worth a try! It's easily one of the better 1-credit locations on property, and it's nice that they offer a mix of spicy and mild options.

I really enjoyed your reviews and your pictures were wonderful! Thx for sharing!:wizard:
Thanks for reading! And I'm glad you like the pics - I do what I can with my iPhone. :goodvibes

Ahhh I missed part 3 earlier... shame on me!

Not a problem - it's my fault for declaring this report "complete" and then adding more to it. Couldn't resist sharing more dining updates!

Oh man! I'm trying FF next trip - for sure. Your review settles it. Plus I'll be traveling with Paula and her DH as well and they are fans so I think I'm pretty sold.

I hope you love Flying Fish! The tomato and mozzarella salad is always wonderful, and while I can't speak from personal experience, it seems like the steak and pork receive extremely positive reviews (especially the steak). :thumbsup2 Dining with Paula and Hunter again should be really fun, as well.

I'm a huge EoS fan! 95% of the time I get the caprese as well. I do love the cupcake coronets too. ;)

That caprese was great. Didn't try dessert there, but there's always next time.

That was very nice of the manager at your GFC dinner to bring a special dessert. I loved the greeting. Such a different experience from our shared dinner in August for sure. I still like GFC so I look forward to returning.

Agreed - it was such a magical moment, and completely different from August. The manager we know normally works at Citricos now - I'm sure things would have been different if she had been at GFC during our August meal!

Thanks for sharing the additional reviews. :)
I'm glad you enjoyed them, and hopefully your first Flying Fish experience will be as good as this meal was!

great reviews, thanks so much for taking the time and wonderful pics, I'm hungry already and our trip is a month away:)
Thanks so much for reading, and I'm glad you enjoyed the reviews and photos. With your Disney trip getting closer and closer, the next month should fly by. :goodvibes

:rotfl2: What in the HECK is wrong with me???? That is hilarious! My Disney geography just went completely wonky the other night, didn't it? Yikes.

I would love to stay at CR one day, but the monorail resorts are likely out of my price range unless and until I finally bite the bullet and buy DVC (which I probably could have done with the cost of our last vacation! :scared1:).

Those donuts are definitely a nice snack choice! The water parks are super fun, but I've never actually eaten at them before. Now that MagicBands are becoming a thing, I'm hoping to actually try some water park quick service food next time!
And I will look forward to the review! ;)

That makes me feel better - I hate to sound all negative about our dining experiences. But I was kind of surprised that places like FFC went as disappointingly as they did. :confused3

Sanaa is definitely worth a try! It's easily one of the better 1-credit locations on property, and it's nice that they offer a mix of spicy and mild options.
We will definitely be dining there at some point - especially when we finally stay at AKL someday! :woohoo:

I have really enjoyed your reviews so much! I hope there will be more! :goodvibes

CR is definitely a great place to stay, but even if you're not staying there, it's still a fairly convenient place to have a meal. It's just one monorail stop (or a short walk) away from Magic Kingdom! :thumbsup2 I hope you get to stay there sometime.

It does seem like most Disney restaurants (including the signatures) are inconsistent. Just look at Artist Point and Jiko - even though we've had really positive experiences there, many others swear they won't go back and the food isn't worth it. Of course, things can change from night to night, so I guess it's always worth it to try these places for ourselves.

We will definitely be dining there at some point - especially when we finally stay at AKL someday! :woohoo:
I hope you really enjoy Sanaa! Thinking about it now, it's actually one of the WDW restaurants that I'm missing the most. Those accompaniments with the bread service - they're just fantastic!

I have really enjoyed your reviews so much! I hope there will be more! :goodvibes
Thanks so much! I'm sure there will be more, but until then, I'll be focusing on my last semester of school (while sneaking in some Dis time at 3:45am).
