Day 15 13th July Thursday Going Home Today Weather Hot/Sunny/Rain
The day had arrived that we all dread going home day, *********** was arranged for 9am pick up so I let the tribe sleep till 8am then it was the usual checking drawers, under beds etc to see if we had forgot anything, our fridge was still pretty full of beer, water, juice etc so it was left for maid along with a healthy tip for cleaning out our mess, we started the trek down to the lobby and boy those cases where heavy, I tried to get a connection to the internet again but no joy at all, *********** arrived 10 minutes late our driver apologised and seemed surprised no one had called to warn us he was running late, but to be honest we didn't really mind, we arrived at DTD by 9:30am and already there was a bit of a queue, after dumping the cases near the vans we joined the queue, and I'm glad we did this as within 20 mins we where case free and on our way through DTD, we also where lucky as they never weighed our cases. DTD was deserted at this time but surprisingly we bumped into the dad and daughter from our tour yesterday and we had a chat with them, turns out they had done the VIP tour at Universal as well and they said the BG tour was by far the best of the two, they wished us well on our long journey home and we said goodbye. We where heading for guest services at DTD to upgrade the two day tickets we had bought last year as part of dining plan, and I have to say it isn't easy to find but after asking a few staff at the Disney store we eventually get told its true location, so after showing photo ID I pay $238 for each ticket to be made 7 day hoppers, with plus options and non expiry, with that done we window shop DW spots a nice photo frame, we decide to get it next year, we then decide to get breakfast at Earl of sandwich and we are glad we do the breakfast sandwiches are really good and at $2.95 very reasonably priced total bill was $16 incl 2 juices and a Kona coffee,
we then get a bus from marketplace to Typhoon Lagoon, now none of the buses are marked for a water park but are marked for resorts so we ask a driver and he says just get any resort bus as they all stop at Typhoon Lagoon, so within 10mins we are in the queue for TL.
Strange thing after we get through turnstile at the park my small cool bag is checked but my large rucksack isn't checked at all which I found weird but hey ho, once in the park we try to find a seat and that took 20mins or so and even then we where lucky as some people just happened to be leaving, once settled kids disappeared to play and I went and rented a large locker, towels and bought another refillable cup stored our clean clothes and towels in large locker then we just chilled at the park, I did try lazy river but just couldn't master those damn rings but still gave the tribe a chuckle at my tries,
we had a lunch of hotdogs and chicken wraps, around 2pm we experienced some rain but it was a welcome relief in the heat, at around 3:30pm we packed up and had showers, changed into our travelling clothes and dumped the towels etc we where leaving behind in the bins, just as we where preparing to leave the park the heavens opened so we sheltered like everyone else but after 15mins we decided we had to brave the rain to get out, luckily although still raining it had lessened somewhat also by luck just as we where leaving park a bus pulled in for SSR so we hopped on that and after a tour around SSR it headed for DTD, by the time we got off the bus at DTD the rain had stopped, we had got off at the PI stop as it was 4:45pm I took the kids into the sweet shop and they picked some sweets as a treat and with the little money they had left they bought DW a chocolate rose as a belated anniversary gift, after the sweet shop DW took me to the HOB outside bar and bought me a green gator cocktail which was very nice, DD though still managed to shop in HOB by buying a patch and some guitar picks that girl will bankrupt dread to think of the cost of marrying her off,
by now we had 10mins before our pick up so we head off for the bus stop at 5:25 Mears's coach arrives there are only about 12 others there for transfer, driver waits till 5:35 then we are on way to airport, we arrive at MCO 6:05pm, we have no hassles going through security, kids get some treats in Duty free plus DW and kids share a couple of pastries from the snack shop.
At 6:50pm we begin boarding our plane it was Hot Lips same plane we had going out, boarding is pretty smooth and our seats are good although the guy in front of DW has to be asked to lift his seat while we eat, the food is the usual chicken or beef but its pretty nice must admit that,
I watch V for Vendetta a very bloody picture and the Harrison Ford picture can't remember its name, the flight is the usual uneventful type, manage to catch an hours sleep although DW and kids manage a few more than that. We arrive at LGW on time but it takes ages for the cases as usual, we then travel over to the other terminal for our flight back to Glasgow with BA, this is when I realise we don't have tickets from Virgin for return flight, but I had checked our details online and it was all fine so after conferring with a BA agent they directed me to the help desk, while waiting at to be seen the first class desk is free so they call us over I explain to the supervisor our situation she checks our details and says its ok and issues us our boarding passes and takes our luggage now this is where its scary and we where so lucky that the girl at BA was so friendly two cases where over 42 kilo, and two where 35 kilo
the BA supervisor was ok we did empty some thing into the big bag we had but we where very lucky and I was amazed at the weight in the cases just grateful Virgin never weighed them. So with boarding passes in hand we went through security and I have to say security going back to Glasgow was tougher that going to the States but eventually we get through, long story short we had something to eat, BA flight left 30mins late, our taxi driver was waiting on us and by 3:30pm we where in our own home having a cup of tea.
Thanks to everyone's kind comment's on my reports and thanks for taking the time to read them, konw I've not posted much in a long while but i hope to stick around for a while
