High school football state semi-finals tonight - and it's SNOWING!!!

Traffic in Cleveland has come to a grinding halt. The first measureable snowfall of the season seems to have this effect on NE Ohio drivers. It's like they have never seen snow before. The weather folks are predicting 4 to 6 inches of the white stuff. I should have known it was coming because December99 was posting about snow in "The Windy City" yesterday. And we always get Chicago's leftover weather.

Anyway, please send warm thoughts towards the Nordonia High School football team and marching band members who will be braving 20MPH winds and 34 degree temperatures at the game this evening. The players and the coach all shaved their heads for this game. Speaking as a folically challenged individual, they are going to be real sorry that they did that. And warm wishes to my crazy wife and daughter who are going to the game as well.

I'm stuck at work because the only road home is a parking lot right now. If I make it home in time, I'll watch the game on tape delay in the warmth and comfort of my family room. Who says I'm a fair weather fan?

Sending nice warm thoughts your way John! They had predicted we'd get at least 3 full inches of snow and most likely 5 and we only got a dusting at my house... so I hope at least the same for you. Good luck!!!

There's already at least 4 inches on the ground. We aren't going to dodge this storm. Winter has officially arrived. The good news is that I only have to put up with this for another 7 days before heading south.

Well we are usually lucky here. Living so close to downtown, we usually miss the storms in general. The heat from the city seems to push them away. But the cold cold air and the winds sure hit here. I couldn't help but look at the white stuff on the ground and dream about the trip myself today. They better have the heat kicked up for us in Florida... I'll be wanting it in a bad way!!!

I feel the same way--13 days to Florida! The local team we have in the playoffs tonight had their game postponed until tomorrow. We got 3-4 inches here in the Toledo area.

Believe it or not
NORDONIA WON!!!

That means our team is going to the state finals for Division 2 next Friday. The day before I leave for DIScon. And the day that DD Sarah turns 13.

When James signed up for marching band, the worst case scenario (as far as time committment) would be if the football team went all the way to state finals. It is truly unbelievable that they have made it to the finals.

Robin - I believe that the Toledo team that you mentioned is also a division 2 team and that, if they win tomorrow, they will be playing Nordonia in Massillon next Friday.
