My husband passed away in January and I am going to buy a headstone for him. I have been trying to find a picture somewhere online of a hidden mickey on a real headstone or something that I could have done that comes from Disney. I want it so that when the kids(7 and 3yrs old) and I go visit his grave we can remember how much we all loved our trips to Disney. He loved disney and was and avid pin trader whenever we went there. I want it to be there but discreet. We loved finding hidden mickeys.
Any suggestions where I could find pictures or does anyone know of anyone who did this for a loved one?
Thanks
Kathy

I don't know of any but I love the idea of having a hidden meaningful image on the headstone. I am sorry for your loss. :grouphug:

I am so sorry for your loss.

I know there is a famous voice actress who passed away and she has characters on her tombstone. Let me see if I can find a picture. I think it was a little blatant, but maybe it can give you ideas.

And I love this idea, by the way.

I don't have any ideas but love the idea. I am so sorry for your loss.

I have no image ideas but want to say how sorry I am for your loss. I think it's a wonderful idea. Perhaps the monument company can help you design a personal image.

I have done some searches without any luck. What else are you planning to have on the monument? Maybe we can think of a way to hide a Mickey in something you are already planning.

First, I am so sorry for your loss.

How about having it hidden somewhere within something engraved on the stone? Like flowers-one for each child and you, and it could be hidden somewhere? Or it could be used as a period, say after a middle initial?

Another idea would be to get the Hurricane Mickey (it is the swirly artistic three-circle Mickey head) and have that incorporated into a design or a vine.

I am so sorry for your loss. I think your idea is wonderful.
I love the swirly mickey head idea posted by the pp. I'm picturing a beautiful vine or tree with a hidden swirly mickey head. It sounds so classy, yet really a beautiful tribute and a reminder of such wonderful memories. :lovestruc

Thanks for the swirly mickey idea. I my just find hidden mickey pix and see which are easily hidden in that kind of design. I am going to put some kind of cross on it and I was thinking of something natural like vines etc. Also putting two vases on it. Otherwise pretty simple.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I think it's a beautiful idea, both to honor your husband and to have some tangible reminder of happier times for your children.

I am so very sorry for your loss. That is wonderful that you have so many wonderful memories at Disney with your DH and children.

My friend passed away while he was a CM and his parents had a headstone made with the simple 3 circle Mickey Mouse head at the top. I don't have a photo but it was very tastefully done.

First off my sincere condolences to you and your family.

My idea is a little different but thought I would run it by you I am trying to expain what I am thinking I hope it makes sense.

What if there was some way to take imprints of your handprints onto the headstone side by side and then take your childrens handprints (a large and small hand each on either side of yours ) and form them into the shape of a Mickey head? I think it would be a cool way that would be significant in more than one way :
1. The shape that the three of you made into a Mickey shape
2. Capturing the small ness of your childrens hands joined with you in the center forever.
3. Your families hands will always be open and placed on his memorial .

LoveOrlando....
OMG the love knots with hearts are a perfect double meaning!! A heart for the love in our family AND a hidden Mickey.
Thanks for thinking of that!
God works in mysterious ways and in the time since my husband was injured in December he has not only given me strenght but also soo many people in my path who have helped me and the kids. Family friends and co-workers have been beyond amazing of course but soo many strangers who have said the right thing at the right time.
Thanks to all of you for your help on this. I usually only come here when I am planning our trips but I knew if I put this out there to you guys you would understand and I would find something.
I have printed the ideas and I will let you know how it works out.

Don't have anything meaningful to help out other than to let you know how sorry I am for your loss. The ideas are great, what a wonderful tribute to some of your families' happy memories. Glad you "wasted" that money on the trip too.:thumbsup2
